Laptop or Tablet Needed for Work and Play (1k Budget)

Hey guys. I've been putting up with my Samsung Netbook for a few years longer than I should have. I need a mobile PC for work and for movies and internet.

My needs:
Screen: 13 to 15 inch. High def. (I love the super amoled screen of Samsung tablet).

Battery: must last at least 5 hours preferably 10.

Optical drive not required.

HDMI out is desirable

Rugged and reliable is important.

Decent processor and high ram.

Prefer SSD hard drive 500gb or more.

Budget under $1,000.

Any thoughts and/or bargains?

    Wait for a sale on the Surface pro 3, the Surface pro 4 is meant to come out in a couple of months. Might be worth waiting for the pro 4 to come out and get the pro 3 at a big discount. Also I got my i5 version of the surface pro with keyboard for about $1080 from microsoft during their last sale + $100 off coupon.

  Asus TP500LN-CJ104H Transformer Book Flip ($998 @ JB-HiFi)

  It has got decent processing power both CPU and graphics wise. Not completely sure about the screen and battery life, but it seems to be the only laptop with a full HD 1080p screen under $1,000. You will probably need to check out the actual product in store to see if the screen quality and ergonomic is good enough for your needs.
