Kogan 27" Cinema Display WQHD for $352- OzBargain Feedback

Just wanting to get feedback from any owners of the kogan 27" wqhd display. It's currently going for $352 plus delivery which seems better to deal with in regards to warranty and returns than ebay Korean monitors.

My primary purpose of getting a new screen is for lightroom usage (just personal photo editing) so colour is fairly important. Understand it won't reach the levels of the $700+ monitors but my budget won't stretch that far. Any users of this monitor in a similar usage scenario that would like to chime in would be much appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

Stay far away from anything branded Kogan.

  • Have a look at the Dell outlet refurbished stuff. As said above, avoid Kogan.

  • I'm not going to say Kogan is great, because they aren't. What they are is risky but you can grab a bargain. I've had lots of Logan stuff including TVs, microwaves, monitors… Some of them have been absolute rubbish and I sent them straight back, others have broken down after 12 months but sent it back under warranty and others have been great. If you don't mind jumping through some hoops, you can grab a bargain.

In this case, I bought the monitor when they first came out. Back then you couldn't get a 27 for anywhere near that price. That was probably 2 1/2 years ago and its still going. It is a bit fidgety and not the greatest but its a solid monitor for the price. My advice is maybe get it on a shipping free day and if you don't like it, send it back. If you don't want the hassle, spend a bit more and see what else is out there.

    • 2.5 years sounds promising, just don't want it breaking down straight after warranty finishes.. Been reading on Whirlpool and by the sounds of it most people are happy with it and only a few having to claim warranty on it. Been looking around (nothing on Dell at the moment) and nothing comes close in price unless I start going ebay korean models which I'd prefer not to. I've placed an order for one and looking forward to playing with it, got 14 days for return if it's no good. Thanks for the replies.

      • It's a dollar less on their eBay page (after shipping is factored in). Maybe you should order from there so if you do need to send it back you get shipping back as well?

        • Bah, they must of just dropped it. Was full price when I checked the day I ordered. 2% cashback too….

  • Monitor arrived. So far so good, only 1 minor defect with a pixel being darker than the others. Wouldn't have noticed if I didnt go looking for it but since you can unsee what you've already seen. Big difference coming from a 22" 1680 x 1050 display.
