Need FREE & safe 4+ o/nights railway parking Sydney North/West

I am looking for FREE & safe 4+ o/nights car parking near railway stations Sydney North/Western suburbs so that I can drive and then rail it to Sydney Airport. CCTV coverage would be a bonus, but not necessary. I would be parking on the first day in the evening, and so most commuters will have gone home. Not an expensive car, but still worth protecting. Any tips please?

  • wtf.. just park in any suburban street…
people leave their car in the streets overnight all the time?

or find a suburban street in Mascot area, park there and catch a cab to airport from your car lol

  • Hornsby has CCTV. The trains there are also close to 24/7 so there are staff around extended hours. If you parked near the platform end the car would be visible from the platforms. I like parking there for weekend trips as you can get an express to Central and change for the airport.

However even CCTV won't prevent freak events, just capture them

  • Don't leave anything in the car, leave glove box open showing there's nothing there etc

  • Parking at the Airport can be as 'little' as $79

If you have 2 or more people it is worthwhile since it costs around $19 for a one way trip from the sticks on the train.

    • ozbargainers would park their car at station and then use free uber credit for airport

For parking, some stations have all day free parking for commuters right outside the station. Dont park there, because at night it will be only your car. Find a nearby street and park right in front of someone's house as this would be much safer.

  • Ask your friends or families too for option to park at their place or in front of their house.

  • Thanks all for the info. I parked once in the streets in Mascot for a week and when I got back I found that the car had been scratched. On another occassion I parked in front of houses near a station and a window was smashed in. Possibly just unlucky.

  • Take the car to cash converters, ask for a loan of 50 against it, they then become responsible for garaging the car and I think if its damaged they are liable, costs maybe 5 bucks in interest per week?
