Free Batch of Applejacks Cider Delivered [FB Required]

900

Just came across this promotion offering a free batch of Applejacks cider. Since its a new brand it's difficult to be sure of its legitimacy so enter your details at your own risk. Also make sure you add Jack Applejacks as a friend to have it sent to you.

The cider sounds pretty nice though, especially the half shot of 42 below :)

      Broden

      • +2

Flea bay? Do you itch when in use?

  • Says you need to be their friend on FB.

    • No, the T&Cs state to add them on FB after filling out your details

  • -1

Yeah we should remove this after 10 minutes so that only the first few people harness the offer.

In saying this, they do have an automated sms system so they must be slightly legit.

  • Nothing at all on Facebook about this offer… https://www.facebook.com/jack.applejacks, and the guy lives in East Tamaki, New Zealand.

    • +1

This is their actual Facebook page, still not 100% convincing
      https://www.facebook.com/applejacksau

      • Are you sure? Click the Facebook Like thingy at the bottom of your form, and it takes you to the link I provided.

        • Yeah I think that was made especially for this promotion, maybe to confirm its one batch per real person?

  • +14

    OzBargain is my religion.

  • +7

Be sure to read the T&Cs. Sounds more like a lucky dip? I may be totally wrong.

Technically speaking, this is a “game of skill”. In other words, APPLEJACKS decides who wins and who we choose to be our APPLEJACKS champions.

We have a limited amount of free samples to give away. So it’s possible you might do all that, and still not get anything… if that happens, we’ll do our best to let you know.

    • Just after that, part of the same paragraph:

In other words, after your free sample, you might take continue taking part, do everything we suggested and still not receive anything.

After the free sample, I think they select some people to further promote the brand

      • +2

I'm confused. Thanks, but giving this one a miss.

        • +1

I don't blame you - the T&Cs are hard to understand. They probably could have been a lot simpler if they just stuck to the usual formal language we're used to

    • +2

      Yeah, this.
"We have a limited amount of free samples to give away. So it’s possible you might do all that, and still not get anything… if that happens, we’ll do our best to let you know. But yeah, basically, you snooze, you lose. We only have so much free APPLEJACKS. It doesn’t grow on trees, you know… er, well, actually, it sort of does. But still. We might run out!"

And then this from their Facebook page:
"Ok, it just got pretty damn real for us here at APPLEJACKS HQ!
ONLY a few of you lucky buggers will be getting your hands on APPLEJACKS right now. So enjoy and get stuck in with your mates, stay tuned for news on which local boozers will be stocking us…"

edit: I'm not really that keen on apple cider, so i'll leave it for others to try rather than ozbargaining it. If anyone receives some, let us all know if its any good!

  • +11

Did a kid write those terms & conditions???

    • Getting high on their own supply.

    • Sex:F/M
      Yes please. Lol jokes!! HAHA

  • It says you must like them, so after completing details do I just press the Facebook button after submitting and that's it?

    • Yeah as far as I can tell you just add that account as a friend

    • You actually have to add them and wait for them to accept you, just clicking that button at the bottom of the form won't be enough.

  • Bookmark comment, just inmcase someone gets lucky

  • +1

Ok just got another email. I have another Facebook account not related to my email I gave to them but with that account I liked them, does this mean its all good? Very confusing.

    • Yeah that's the email I got too but you don't have to like their Facebook page, you just have to add their Facebook profile as a friend. Those extra instructions appear to be for another delivery of samples after this first one

    • Jackers club? 0.o

    • I got this too. Might as well give it a go for a free carton.

  • Religion: Ozbargain.

  • +1

i was just going to go ahead and find out where to buy some instead of waiting for a sample, but if they are pulling some weird marketing stunts with tricky t&c, i think i'll just boycott them …

  • +1

seriously why on earth do they need to get Facebook involved. I filled out the form but my fake Facebook profile is a totally different name. Anyway fingers crossed..

    • +2

I think they might be trying to prevent that kind of thing ;)

  • +1

Not gonna waste time on this one…

  • +1

Applejacks is going to have a heart attack tomorrow with the 2000 odd free cider requests!

  • Looking fwd to the totally gansta events

      Related to Bundy Bear ?

    • The manufacturer is no small time operator as the Applejacks ads infer. As noted in the press, Bacardi Lion is the company behind the product (http://www.theshout.com.au/2015/07/03/article/Bacardi-Lion-l…), a joint venture between Bacardi and the brewer Lion with many of the top international spirit names under its belt - so if you believe the company owes you the cider you put your name down for, then insist that it is provided. It will only put a small dent in their millions of dollars of sales each year.

When they arrive I'll put it with the socks and tee-shirts I'm still waiting on…

  • Why am I suspicious of this?

  • haha the "religion" field got me for a second.

    • all glory to ozbargain lol

  • Added them as a friend but I did use my competitions/junk email and not my main one…

I do hope I get some cider

  • Still comtemplating

  • +1

Giving this a go. Using fake FB.

Can't see how cider will be delivered to our homes for free, but hey.. potentially free cider! So I'll risk it. Wouldn't do it if it was a cider I'd already tried.

    • +5

Giving this a go. Using fake FB.

      I still don't trust them… I used a fake address too… just in case.

    • +2

Jamesons sent out a cash card to buy a four pack of their premixed drinks when they launched too. This sort of promotion would be reasonable to start brand recognition in Oz as 42 Below is a lesser known brand.

  • +1

apple jacks apple cider, sounds like a plot line from My Little Ponies…

  • Getting it delivered to my desk at work. Whats better then drinking cider at Uni?

    • +8

Staying at uni so you know the difference between 'then' and 'than' ?

Good job using a "personal" account.
This person has reached the friend request limit and can't accept any more.

  • Unable to Send Friend Request
This person has reached the friend request limit and can't accept any more.

  • Jack Applejacks still hasn't accepted my fwend request. never have i been so anxious for a fwendship!

  • This post should be marked as expired.

  • Jack Applejacks doesn't want me to be his friends.

    • Same here. Though it doesn't look like his friend count has changed very much so I imagine it will still happen.

  • +7

    From their Facebook page ;

"Whoa… we just ran a free cider promo on Facebook and were inundated with veritable shit-tonne of entries. To the point, New Zealand is now suffering from an apple shortage. Seriously, we're now OUT OF STOCK.
Rest assured, we'll look after our first 200 entries as promised. So you're still in the running. Or, you could just hit up your local bar and ask for APPLEJACKS.
    Share"

  • So MAYBE 200 out of the 4066 who clicked MAY get free cider.

  • Jack just accepted my request. I'm not even sad I didn't get into the first 200. This guy's posts are hilarious

    • same here. i wonder if that means we're still in with a chance.

      • Same, I saw this and signed up relatively early too

  • +2

"Phew… as you can see, we're about a quarter of the way through packing up our free APPLEJACKS samples and all the lucky Victorian peeps will be posted their booze tomorrow. NSW entrants will follow. The idea is we get it to you ALL before the weekend.
We understand that many of you desperately want to know who made the cut… so rest assured, our genius founder (read: idiot savant) Jack Applejacks and his orchard elves (read: exploited work-experience interns) are now working out who the first 200 requests exactly were.
So, how will you know if you won? Short answer: the cider will show up on your doorstep and you'll get an email/SMS.
How will you know if you DIDN'T win? Easy. We will be sending a bulk telepathic message out the next day, so pay close attention.
    Hopefully that clears things up.
(Also, before anyone gets too grumpy - a bunch of funny buggers posted the link for our little taste-test experiment on some bargain websites, hence why stuff got a little out of control.)"

    • +1

      hahahaha you're welcome, Applejacks

    • +3

Well it was awesome to see the power of Ozbargain once again but I'm very disappointed that they slapped on a 200 person limit after all this. I'm hoping that a decent proportion of those 200 will be Ozbargainers at least

      • +1

I am sure that the 200 limit was put in retrospectively. I don't recall it being there when I read the terms initially but didn't take a screen shot.

  • They should have just offered a prepaid eftpos card for everyone who entered like Jameson did. I got about 5 of them lol.

Anyway don't think I'll be receiving it because I did not like the FB page. Note to Applejacks: Not everyone is interested in having a FB profile, doesn't mean they should be excluded from offers!!

    • So their social media campaign should be open to people who don't use the social media they're targeting?

  • +2

I received mine today via Express Post today (NSW). I was quite surprised! :D

    • +2

      same!

i was like omg i wasnt expecting a package. what did i buy this time

Opened up the heavy package and it was two 4 packs!

      very nice!

    • +2

      Wow that's very surprising because I don't think I've got anything :P
Still super glad that it's come through for some people
