  • Seems like a good price. There was one at Aldi recently for $59, that wasn't electric.

BTW, Aldi have a Halogen oven for $35 including Extender Ring.

The halogen ovens are awesome. I do a roast chicken & potatoes with it every week, best ever.
Don't even use my kitchen oven anymore. Thanks for the free cookbook.

I got a halogen oven to temporarily use while waiting for a part to come in for my faulty wall oven. I figured the haogen oven was only $50, the repair of the wall ovenwas setting me back $300 anyway and I oven bake the majority of my food, it'll do.

Since it's been repaired I've used the wall oven once for a particularly large tuna bake dish. And I only used that because I had to transport it in the dish to someone elses house, I would have just used the base of the halogen oven if I was serving at home.

The halogen oven's easy to keep clean, it's MUCH more power efficient (heats a smaller space), it's good for putting some fatty meat on the top rack and veg in the bottom rack/base for roasting and you don't have to open the door and let the heat out to check on what you're cooking.

The only downside is the light and sound and if they bother you that much… put it in the laundry.

I love my halogen oven. Halogen oven is love. Halogen oven is life.

        • @tantryl: All Halogens vary. ;-)

  • Unavailable online, did you find it in store?

    • Must be in-store clearance.

    • It is in the current target catalogue. I would expect stock to be available as the sale only started today.

      • Zero at Charlestown.

        • Did you try Kotara?

        • The skidders must have got it at Charlestown.

        • @diiilpickle: Not yet, but parking there is worse than Charlestown. I will try Glendale tomorrow. Tah.

    • Loads in store at Target Garden City (QLD). I was looking for the Breville Slow Fast cooker which they didn't have (ended up getting for $150 in Myer)

Feel free OP to put this in your post. ;-)

    • so how do we purcahse these?

      • Setup an account with Amazon, and are compatible with most devices. Works even with an el cheapo tablet, or PC

    • I noticed the links in the Main post are not working. Just click on the ones above. ;-)

  • Not sure if this is a true indication of current product quality - but quite a few negative reviews here:
    http://www.productreview.com.au/p/bellini-btpc10-electric.ht…

    • That looks like a completely different model/iteration. Compare the pictures and the model name. :)

      • You are right - please ignore above. Had another look on same site and nothing came up at all

  • I'm going to be buying this. Sale starts 17th online and 22nd in store.

    • +1

Actually misread the catalogue. The date I was mentioned is for the toy sale

  • Might give this one a go, don't want to fork out $150 for a Tefal.

  • mq center has heaps

  • What about cost to run would this be cheaper than a slow cooker?

    • Probably about equal. But maybe better because you are using the pressure factor to cook. Pressure cooking has always been regarded as very efficient. Basically anything that isn't a normal cavity oven is pretty efficient. Even a pot on the stove.

    • +1

According to Choice testing the running cost per year is less but depends on model. The high setting for slow cooker is sometimes double the cost compared to pressure, the low slow setting is still a bit more but not much.
      E.g.
      Slow, High = $24
      Slow, Low = $14
      Pressure = $12

      • +1

$24/ Year not bad but it depends how often a week its been used?

        • I'm not sure exactly how they measure it but it'll be based on 'regular use'

  • How do these compare with stovetop units?
I've never had an electric one before

  • pity it is not available online.
    might have stacked with

  • Anyone tried this out at home yet?

  • +1

    WOW..1.2kg Beef Roast.
Push "Manual" to heat up bowl, add oil & chopped onions.
Then add beef and brown off.
Add 1.5 cups of beef stock + what ever seasoning you into.
Close & lock lid & valve.
Push 'Meat', then the "+" up to 30 mins.
Beeps once when pressure reached, then beeps again in 30 mins.
I released the valve manually cause I didn't believe it would be cooked - it was.
Now just have to wait another hour for my hassleback potatoes & carrots to roast in the oven. So I have put back on again for 5 mins ("Bean" then "-" down to 5mins) and will let it sit for 30 mins.

I'd say after using the daughters staff card discount it was truly a good Ozbargain buy..

    Cheers OP.

    • OP would probably like a vote also.

  • Thanks OP! Been looking for a decent priced pressure cooker for a while. Missed out on previous discounts at Target.
