Great price. Tried a few post codes and there's heaps of stock around the country for Click & Collect. Good luck :)

Yeah - usually the battery inside them die after a period of time. Most, if not all of the cheap phones will die within 18months. You just have to weigh up the pros and cons. Pay $150 for a better quality phone pack that should last 5+years or have to buy a new 'cheapie' every 18months.
Just buy one that takes AAA. Problem solved!
Wouldn't have it any other way.
Companion sale of Eneloops.
The specs say that these particular handsets do in fact operate on AAA batteries.
We're still using some Panasonic handsets that we purchased about 10 years ago in this house. They also operate on AAA batteries.
Doro have exited the country now but use to make some good phones that run on AAA batteries. I still have a couple in a box to pull out when the ones i have do die. They all eventually die. With these Doros the buttons are usually the first things to go.
Eneloop worked fine on my Pana phone too.
Great deal. Thank you very much.
Bear in mind there is no speakerphone on this model
That's a game changer…
Dont feel as bad not waiting for a week for this now.
I was going to say this too. This is one of the musttohave feature for me, especially when calling a call centre and has to wait for more than a few minutes..

They were $39 a few weeks ago at DSE so he may drop them again soon…

@rakerr:
I was spot on… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/201791Yeah i saw it on the front page this morning and thought "well that didn't take long". Got one click and collect waiting for me this arvo. thanks.
@rakerr:
Nice :)
How much are these normally?
Just a note.. They were both 20% cheaper last week.
You should have posted it :)
Will do next time, didn't buy though due to no change of mind policy.
We've had this phone for a couple of years. Definitely doesn't have speakerphone or answering machine. Works with VOIP. Runs on AAA batteries which I have never had to change. Has lasted a long time, easy to set up, no problems & works through our cement/stucco walls which seem to be impervious to wifi.. but the lack of speakerphone is a pain at times and it's not the easiest phone to do things like recall last number, missed call etc (probably would help if I ever read the book).
Ah poop, bought this last week when it was $40! Typical :p
Ordered one online for click & collect at Westfield Parramatta. When I picked it up, I received a single unit instead. I complained and was adviced the code advertised is for a single unit, not a twin pack. They refused to honour the deal saying twin-pack is much more expensive, and the manager used S**T words to described the company and adviced to complain on the company's Facebook.
Anyway, sick of his BS and cancelled the order (for a refund). Called another store and they confirmed the twin pack is actually $29.95.
The manager is obviously a complete and utter moron. All he had to do was check his own company's website.
I can't believe you walked out without kicking up more of a stink. I would have literally got on the phone and contacted head office while I was still there.
I asked the manager to call the head office and he refused to do so.
I would have called the head office myself and complained that one of their stores was refusing to fill a click and collect order.
But since that's all in the past for you now the best thing you can do is contact the DSE customer care centre and make a complaint. And you really should.
(now that the price has dropped even more I'd be ordering it again and choosing to collect it from the exact same store just to shove it in their face)
Bloody hell, this is damn cheap. I bought mine for about $70…
$24.64 today
Thanks, updated.
And again today
hey does this have good range and volume levels. Thinking of getting them for my folks and the louder the better.
Does anyone know a dect phone around this price range that can have an ear piece plugged into it ?
I think you'll be lucky to find any DECT phone with an earpiece socket, at any price. T-coil for hearing aids is not uncommon, and there are a few DECT units around that will let you use a bluetooth headset, but those aren't normally cheap, and you still need to purchase the BT headset.
Why do you want an earpiece socket? Noisy workplace?
I have a voip number for family to call me on who are overseas and they sometimes like to talk a long time :-)
I have a cheap dect phone which works great but looking for something I can plug a ear peace into like I do with my mobile so I can use my hand a little easier when on a call.
I see. I have VOIP myself, and I use the speakerphone function for that, it works fine for local calls. But for international calls, you will probably experience a fair bit of echo if you combine VOIP and speakerphone. You'll often hear an echo of your own voice, up to a second delayed, and the people on the other end may hear echo too.
Have you considered putting VOIP on a smartphone, and using the smartphone's headset feature? That works moderately well, but is subject to how good your WiFi reception is. Depending on who your VOIP provider is, there is often a way to get multiple phones (including your mobile) to ring for incoming calls, all routed through VOIP. Most providers will also let you do a "call transfer" from one VOIP phone to another VOIP phone, i.e. from the "normal" phone you answered the call on, to the smartphone running VOIP. You will probably need an extra VOIP account for the smartphone, but it can be a free one from your VOIP provider.
Android smartphones are usually available from as little as $29, and it doesn't matter if it's locked to a carrier - you aren't using that part of the phone, you are using WiFi. You don't even need a SIM card in the phone.
I have a Fritzbox which I use for VOIP and that has a great app I use on IOS . The app is great when you are expecting a call and already have the app open on your phone but I have not been able to identify how to transfer a call to the app once you have already answered the call on the dect phone . I am assuming this is not possible.
As you have pointed out exploring the Andiod Fritz app and have a dedicated phone for this could be an option also but if possible I would much prefer a simple dect phone but thank you for the suggestion and it is something I will look into.
I have no experience with a Fritzbox, but I did a search and found this:
http://en.avm.de/nc/service/fritzbox/fritzbox-7390/knowledge…If that doesn't help, try asking your VOIP provider - they may have already worked out the answer. I use MyNetFone, and I've found them to be quite helpful on the one or two occasions I've posted a question on the Whirlpool VOIP forum.
There are also DECT headsets, like the Uniden HS950, currently $58 at HN:

One of the two reviewers said it died after 18 months. Can a phone die?
