Good quality vacuum bargain

Hi all,

Our vacuum cleaner has given up on us so we're looking for a replacement. I remember seeing some catalogues with the Dyson dc37 for around $400 a few weeks back at a few places but looks like those deals are over.

Looking for suggestions on alternatives. I've heard good things about the Electrolux Ultraflex Allergy which can be had for around $350, was hoping to spend perhaps closer to the $200-300 mark.

Thoughts?

  • Miele with a turbo head.
A S5211 with a turbo head and a box of bags might be about $100 more than your budget though.
Will be the cheapest in the long run as they are made to last a very long time.

  • There is a Miele on the front page right now

  • I have a recent Electrolux bagless, very similar to or the same as the one you suggest. I love it! It has a 12m cord (a bit longer than the 10m average), comfortable handle, it's remarkably quiet and lightweight, has handles where you need them, and is very powerful. I picked it over Bosch.

    • We had an Electrolux a while back and found it to be very good. Any idea which model you have, when I searched the elctrolux series again there were a few models available.

      • ZUF4205AF - Electrolux UltraFlex Animal Allergy Pro Vacuum Cleaner

Can't remember how much I paid for it. I went with this one because I wanted a turbo head, but I don't think it was really necessary. I'd probably have been happy with a model down or so.

One negative is that the fat hose on it loses less energy and is therefore more powerful than a thinner one but I've had it kink a couple of times when getting under the bed etc.

  • Liking the look of this at the moment - http://www.godfreys.com.au/electrolux-ultraperformer-zup3862… but also found this in the same series for $70 less http://www.harveynorman.com.au/electrolux-ultraperformer-gre…, not sure how it performs compared?
