Just curious, I live in an inner Melbourne suburb, and have never before seen a bullant within 50k of it.
But a quiet local beachside park has a massive nest tucked away.
They look like Meat ants on Google, about 10-15 mm long, but I don't have any plans to measure them, and they are definitely not to be messed with.
Are there a lot more around, what are they, and have you been bitten?
Do You Have Bullants in Your Suburb ?

We have loads of them. Probably at least 20 nests in our town. In country WA.
We have them in Joondalup, WA.
We have them in the south eastern suburbs of Melboune https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/183099
Yep but I live in the country. They always increase the height of their nests 15 to 20cm high 1-2 weeks before it rains heavily. The nests have been high twice in the last month. The alnino seems to be stopping the rain here is SA. Based on the nest heights rain must be 1 week away.
Where I grew up in the south the neighbour had 3 nests perfectly flat 1 metre in diameter 25m apart with freeways of ants 1/2 a metre apart running in each direction between the nests. On one path they all headed south and the other North.
Ants are way smarter than we give them credit for.
Yep they live next door..Joe and Diane bullant.
