  • I wish it was cheap to get to Queenstown from Wellington

    • set up a grabaseat alert, they are generally good if you have some date flexibility

Who can afford to go to NZ, these days. The exchange rate is killing us.

Don't vote Liberal next election. I am voting for Greens, because I hate corporate Australia.

        Yeah having a job sucks.

        • -1

I tend to think of people other than myself and my bank account. Comes with my job description.

It's okay. I understand people want right-wing governments with backwards ideology which do not represent the views of ordinary Australians.

Oh, yeah that's a good idea. When labor starts giving out $1000 hand-outs again the exchange rate should go up, shouldn't it ;-)

I've voted for every major political party, and can assure you the problems don't go away, they just change.

If you vote green you might as well just vote labor, and save them the time to allocate the preferences.

Sadly, politics in this country is only a two horse race, and if it was a real race, both horses would be shot, because that's what they do with lame horses.

        • I probably won't vote at all. I found out that the fine is only $20 if you don't vote.
In the last state election 72% of the votes in my electorate went to the Liberal Party.

          What is the point? lol

  • Overnight flights to NZ..no thanks.

They are fine. Have done this flight a couple of times now

    • work during the day then catch the usually quiet flight, arrive early morning. i think they are good -gives you a full day to look around or catch the early grabaseat flights to regional town discounted flights

The last time Jetstar had this deal. I flew over on Friday night, arrived Saturday morning. Then had two full days in Wellington and flew back on Monday morning and straight into work. :-)

Admittedly I was a bit tried on Saturday night from the overnight flight, but it wasn't that bad. The overnight flight itself was only a third full so pretty much everyone got a row to themselves and got to lie down.

It's a fairly new route, so Jetstar are obviously trying to fill those seats.

        • Sounds good… but I need one from Sydney… and they never had flights from SYD to Wellington…

Can fly $170 return Christchurch then $200 return christchurch to Queenstown in total $370 return from melbourne to Queenstown.
The cheapest on jetstar is around $600 at this time for these dates

just wait. we went direct gc to queenstown for $180 rtn in May. Dave money for the activities! it was awesome. We saw the autumn colours and the chaging seasons to winter. Raining autumn leaves was magical and it snowed halfway through the week so all the mountains were snowcapped.
