      how long you have to replace the battery on the main box? (the receiver/sound)

        Receiver I think about 2 years. AA batteries.
        Button haven't replaced yet.

    This doorbell doesn't need batteries except only for the button.

    This option by Jaycar is cheaper but you sacrifice the additional plug port.

    I've never had much luck with battery doorbells bought from Bunnings.

    So I've gone for the Jaycar one suggested by scrimshaw (Who always has the greatest recommendations)

    We haven't had a doorbell for a while, relying on the dogdetecter.

    I positioned the button just below the ACCC do not knock sticker, which was a freebie through Ozbargain many years ago.
