    • What improvements will it have over this one?

      • +3

        Heart rate monitor for one…

        • This "heart rate" would probably decrease the battery life

        • @mazuko:

No it will be able to be powered by your heart

    • wait for another year until XiamoBand 69s come out

      • +5

What does these do? Track your 69s?

        • Track your left-hand girlfriend movement

  • I've given up on these now.
First one died due to battery running too low. It will randomly wake up if left on charge for many days, but I only get a few days battery life before id dies completely.

Friendly warning the OP, charge your band before it gets down to 25 or 30 %

Anyway, I lost the replacement, it must have got hooked out of the rubbery band somewhere, and I never found it again.
I'm tempted to buy another, but I ordered a Fitbit charge HR from DSE last week, just waiting to pick it up instore. Otherwise I might be tempted, but I could see I was going to keep pouring good money after bad on mi bands

    • Sounds like you had a dud. I've charged mine twice and haven't had any problems yet but I'll keep it in mind. The bands aren't great imo, they occasionally do fall out though I've been lucky enough to notice each time and haven't lost mine (yet).

      • I was at about 55 days & 33% battery, super happy right up until it died. Unless it was a fake, the battery management just isn't good enough. There are plenty of reports of similar on the web.
Also they can be very fussy connecting on bluetooth, needing to cycle bluetooth off/on, and/or phone off/on

And agreed, the bands aren't quite good enough

Battery life is great, size is great, but reliability (against failure or loss) is not good enough. Thinking about it, a small fishing-line safety lanyard would be good to stop it getting lost when (not if) it falls out of the wrist band.

I haven't had any troubles with bluetooth apart from the initial set up which wouldn't even let me past the opening screen to log on (I think they patched that).

        • I've heard that black rubber bands or hair bands work fairly for keeping them in.

      • I lost mine already the other day with the crap quality band.

Fall off when I was carrying umbrella with rain on the road somewhere

no problems at all, we have two in the house.
I just let the battery run out and recharged, works fine.
in theory, if you have a good battery, it doesn't have memory and you still should discharge fully every so often. XiaoMi makes great powerbank, so you might have a fake.

      • yes, it is possible. How would I tell ?
Maybe the one I lost was not fake.
The ability to easily fall out of the band is a basic design flaw IMHO; they should have simply made it press out from the back, i.e so you had to take the band off to remove the tracker. They didn't do that, so I bought another brand.

    • Why are you charging your device "for many days" mine fully charged from ~10% in under an hour.
In other news, have had one disconnection since last time it was on here at this price.

This is a good spend for $20 or however much you buy it for. The steps tracker is accurate, the battery life is good, automatic sleep tracking, vibrating alarm band vibrates when you get a phone call, 30+ day battery life, good build quality.

The only downsides I can think of is that it doesn't measure sleep well sometimes. Sometimes I'll be lying down for 30 minutes dead still, then I can't sleep so I'll wake up for an hour or two, then go back to sleep, then it won't track my sleep. If you wake up during the night or sleeping during the day, it wont track the rest of your sleep.

    • +1

Yes, I found the sleep tracking was a little flaky, it would record me taking steps in the middle of the night to take a piss, but not record that as an interruption to my sleep.

I've been very happy with mine. I keep my phone on silent now and get my notifications via vibrate and led flashing which is a lot less obtrusive at work. Using a modified app from xda forums I've set notifications for calls, sms, hangouts, eBay each with different vibration pattern and different led color. I also like the vibrate alarm to get me up early without a phone shrieking the house awake. It lives on my wrist, I shower with it on. Battery lasts for ages, well over a month. I'm not sure that the pedometer is super accurate, but it's close enough for me. I'd be lost without mine, might have to grab a spare.

  • Thanks. Ended up purchasing one for the missus who wants to get fitter, hopefully some tracking helps her. I've got a LG Watch Urbane coming so I'm set :D

  • Not bad. I love my polar for accuracy but this looks like a great deal. Might buy a couple as gifts.

  • Great deal, just be prepared to wait AAAAAAAAGES for this to arrive.
Took about 6 weeks for my powerbank to get to me.

    • yep, gearbest is shocking for delivery. they take like 2 weeks to send it out, then you wait a month for the boats to ship it here!

    • 6 weeks sounds about right, comapre to dealextreme in the old days its nothing.

Its not uncommon to wait for 2 months!

      • Yup..Sorry mybad.. I changed the currency to AUD. Just bought one of these. Waiting to be delivered

  • Bought one. Thanks OP

  • 80 days??!??!! I've charged mine 3 times now. First time it lasted 65 days, second time lasted 24…. :( I dont even have modified app.

  • I placed order using my account on GB and my order doesn't appear in my orders page after placing it. It seems like login expired by the time I paid using PayPal. Money has been deducted via PayPal. GB is a very dodgy site haven't received any email about order confirmation from them.

    • Try and contact GB, otherwise just get a refund from PayPal.

  • Hi guys, just want to let you all know.I bought 2 in February, and 1 of them has now stopped counting steps (did not drop or anything jsut stop working on its own one day).

The other one, the Wrist Strap is very filmsy over time. I fell out of my wrist this morning and I've lost it.

    Its really cheap and nasty.

I've bought them from Mushtato, I hope I can at least have warranty cover for the one I still have.

  • Anyone know how long it does for gearbest to post?

  • Didn't know they have different straps. those were the highlights cheaper than anywhere I can find
