Looking around amazon, it seems it may just be for Amazon prime though. They've started advertising Amazon Prime day - one day only. July 15th.
If it is true, you'd need to sign up for prime. Although you can sign up for a free 30-day trial, buy your stuff on that day and cancel.
yep, I signed up for the free trial. Hopefully some good deals.
Just out of curiousity, do Prime offer anything other than music and movie streams for people in Australia?
I don't think so ;/ May be cheaper shipping? I am not sure tho.
It's hard to expect good deals considering weak AU dollars
It really depends. Some of the products, even with the weak AUD, is cheaper in Amazon even after taking the shipping into account.
Many headphones are like this, so does memory cards when they are on sale, etc etc. This is even before Black Friday events and such.
Yes, this is meant to be an AMAZING sale, even for us Aussies.
Tons of press already
https://www.google.com.au/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=…Can't wait! Will shit all over Dicks deals.
The mental image of dicks being shat upon is making me puke. On the other hand, the mental image of a flowing Amazon river full of dicks, shit and puke is giving me inspiration, artistically speaking.
Not long to go now. :)
I'm after SSDs, Raspberry Pi 2s, iPhone and anything that's crazily discounted.
Should we have a forum or a list of some sort where we list sales that people find from Amazon Prime? Similar to Black Friday?
I'm happy to contribute to this. I'll post any awesome deals I find to the list.
Amazon press release with some sample deals: http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=176060&p=irol-ne…

Following :)
here is the electronics deals
http://www.amazon.com/b/ref=pin15_us_gw_d_p3_ld_electronics?…too bad no samsung ssd :(
Are these really all the deals? I wouldn't say they compete with Black Friday.
Electronics, Pc component s, camera deals list here:

nop, too much hype no real deals ;/
Nothing to see here, move along…
Yeah, it's not that good at all. Reminds me of Dicks deals.
Example
RRP $150
Normal price is $75
Amazon 20th Anniversary price $73, so now it's 42% off! (when it's really 2% off).Total BS, they have some good deals, but very limited and just to keep people on the line and retain the fear of missing out and most will make rash purchases. Typical sales hype.
Pity.Unfortunately true mal.. :/
It is somewhat due to the aus dollar conversion, but so far it isn't as good as the conversion with deal for us on the last black friday.
Ok now that the really lousy sale is done and dusted, don't forget to cancel your Prime membership before you get charged!
1) Go here - https://www.amazon.com/gp/primecentral
2) Once logged in, on the left click on "Don't continue"
3) Click through the prompts, and this will stop it from charging you beyond the free first month.Don't forget!
@Spackbace you're awesome!
I usually forget to cancel auto renews and waste money.I did the Amazon Prime cancellation now. Your "Don't forget!" in big bold font did it for me.
Thanks a million!!! :)
20 already
