Use in conjunction with other products is for ongoing protection. Capstar is a fast acting product to kill fleas which are currently on the animal but does not provide ongoing protection. For ongoing protection use products such as Frontline, Advantage, Comfortis etc
Or you could just use the other product and not waste money on this and you have the same result … Except your cat won't die
Unfortunately all drugs carry a risk of side-effects, I haven't found any reports of death from Capstar. It has been around for a long time and has been used by millions of people worldwide.
You're right that you shouldn't need it if using a product with ongoing efficacy however not everyone maintains the dosage schedule and flea infestations can happen quite quickly. For example taking your dog to an infested area or contact with another infested animal. In these situations Capstar will act quickly to kill the fleas.
Dude. I don't get the connection to your cat? Do you forget to feed it or something when giving these tablets to your large dog?
Maybe the dog hates tablets and kills your cat in revenge?@tonka: the review above - someone said it killed their cat, and others say their cats had serious side effects.
@kima: Sorry, I was just trying to be silly, as the title says it's for dogs not cats.
This is a good product and used it on my dog with frontline and he is flea free
Used it on my dog too with good results. Short term fast result while you wait for the frontline to kick in. Stops the dog suffering if I've forgotten their frontline dose or they've picked up passengers at the park.
Have always kept this on hand just incase of a break out. Works really well.

reviews seemed pretty bad. the first 2 reviews that I read both 5 star both said they used it in conjuction with something else so I would disregard the 5 stars on those 2 reviews.
