Hi Ozbargainers.
I have a one level 3 bedroom old red brick house on the northern beaches, Sydney. We need more space so are looking at options to add another level.
Does anyone have any tips or recommendations. We have heard of the addition specialists like Cape Cod and Add-Style are a good option. Also how much negotiation can you do on price.
Thanks in advance.
invest some $ into getting a structural engineer who would come out, review existing house drawings especially footing size, frame type etc and advise what can safely be added to your house. Of course a one-stop-shop builder who will design and build is easiest, however more expensive and they may also limit work to what they can make most money from. Consider an architect as well for some sketch options. The architect may also be able to recommend the structural engineer.
