All I'm really looking for is for something to project my speedo on the window, anything else is a bonus.

Just gives me my speed and works well at night.Thanks I have used this before, but I'm a scatterbrain who would normally leave their phone in the car if not in my pocket.
The level of effort you put into your post compelled me to help you. I used a website called google and it directed me to some material on the topic.
Turns out there is multiple variation of HUDs. So it would depend on what your desired outcome is, if you want it to project onto the windshield or be a separate screen on the dash. If you want it too integrated into your cars instruments or connected to your phone draining data. For $50-70 it looks like you would just get a brick on your dash with a small screen that would act as a projectile towards your forehead in an accident as opposed to anything meaningful.
