This is my first post on this forum. May be did not comment, but enjoyed a lot, also learned a lot about many things. Now I need your help to buy a car for Uber.
I work in warehouse with 36K. Want some extra money, thinking to enrol myself in Taxi course, however found that I can work for Uber on Friday night, Saturday night.
I want to buy car that must be at least 2006 onwards model, and good for Uber driving, need your suggestions.
A lot look for cars like Holden Caprices as well, doesn't have to be the V8 model, but give you some nice luxuries that might equal tips :)
But you haven't said what budget you're working to
I don't believe tipping is an option with UberX
You're going to want a taxi style car..
So Prius, Hybrid Camry, Falcon EcoLPI. They choose these for low running costs…
or for something a little different possibly something like a Mondeo/Mazda 6 Diesel.
Prius would be your best bet in terms of value considering the camry and falcon were only just released within the past few years. You can probably get a last gen prius for around $15k and you'll have a smaller chance of getting a lemon because the people who buy them tend to be more careful and technically minded.

How much more would you be willing to pay for those vehicles? Definitely not UberX prices I hope..

Go for something fuel efficient, low maintenance but reliable. Uber customers are usually looking to save some money over taxis & shouldn't be too fussy about the type of car as long as its reasonably clean and presentable. Mazda 6, Mazda 3 Sedan, Camry, Honda Accord, some Hyundai Sedan….
This is an interesting question. How does the Uber app work? Can you pick the car you want to be picked up in? Or is it like a bidding system where people bid a price for your job?
Based on the above, if the person can chose a car then I guess they would be more inclined to go for a roomier car. Otherwise just get something that is safe and cheap to run.
You should also consider insurance costs if you are to Uber. You will probably you need a special type of insurance cover (assuming).

Dude go for a Toyota yaris, Honda Jazz or all time great corolla, none of them cost you more then 10 k and when there is work on Friday and Saturday no one cares which car do you have….for uber black you have to go for the prestigious ones buy not too many people use them and use uber x only to save few bucks….surprising you ask for a genuine help and so called uber users are only trolling you….

What economy you get on on 2013/2014 Corolla ? Dont think u can get as good as Camry Hybrids or Fords on LPGs ?
You'd want a decent sedan that has a good amount of space and has great fuel economy (bonus for cheap repairs / upkeep).
I'd be thinking of cars like a Mazda 6, Toyota Camry or a Hyundai Sonata.
