  • Good deal. +1 for Nokia 301, very good phone.

  • Is there a limit to how many prepaid optus sims you can activate or how many netflix coupons you can claim?

The last couple I did I haven't got the netflix sms yet :(

    • +1

"Can I use more than one Netflix voucher per Netflix account?

Yes! You can use multiple Optus Netflix vouchers on the same Netflix account; they do not override each other."

      Patience Dave, they will come.

      • Hehe I am not good at Patience!

I want to buy more of them but want to wait for my backlog of codes to come through first.

I have $107.88 on my account now.

        • lol… I hear you.
I've now got about the same (but in US$).

        • Where does it tell you how much credit you have left on your account?

        • @starionx: Mine is USD as well I think. How do I know? I am on US billing.

        • +1

@pkh: Under your credit card details here: https://www.netflix.com/YourAccount

        • cool thanks, mine just says "No payment info" obviously I never registered my card when I signed up for the free trial.

        • @starionx: Finally got all my codes. Thanks for your help :)

Your $161.82 credit will be applied to your next bill.

To go for more or not to is the question! I am worried netflix will not be happy with me having so much credit.

        • @daveaus:
          Glad to help. :)
I wouldn't worry about Netflix. As long as they get paid (and they will by optus), they don't care. ;)
          Go for it.

        • @starionx: How much credit are you up to? I'm over $200 now and still waiting for a few more codes! :)

        • @daveaus:
          Broden… is that you?
          lol.

I've only got US$115. I'm thinking about getting some more $14.50 phones from woolies tomorrow. Not sure.

        • @starionx: hehe I guess I got a bit carried away! I bought 5 of the USB sticks in this deal. cex.com was paying $15 each for them, they have reduced this down to $8 now.

        • @daveaus: but cex is in nsw/act Right? So how did you sell it to them?

        • +1

@shalomjd: They have a replied paid address. You just gotta pay for the box.

  • Is there even any stock? These have shown as limited stock for over a month now

    • +1

There is plenty, which one are you looking at?

  • Cant find even one of the items in western Melbourne area

    • Airport West has some if that's near you + here are some others showing in stock :)
      3000, 3072, 3042, 3121, 3977,

  • -1

    I'm guessing that a 3 month voucher has a "nett" value of $36 (3 × $11.99)

Have I done my sums correctly?

    • +4

Your math is bad. It should be $35.97 ;)

      • -7

Which is worse - my maths or your spelling?
        :)

  • +1

Don't forget to sell the modems for $15 at cex

  • Looks like people are selling these codes on ebay for a little profit
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Netflix-Gift-Card-Voucher-35-97-/…

    • Just a little profit indeed! $35 - eBay fees - nice $10 profit at least (depending on what device(s) they purchased in the first place).

      • Hmmm this guy has this in his listing:

This will give you 3 Months worth of netflix on their $11.99 Plan which gives you 2 HD streams
        OR
This will give you 4 Months worth of netflix on their $8.99 Plan which gives you 1 SD stream.

How did he manage the 4 month 1 SD stream version of subscription?

  • Black ZTE F286 $14.50 deal also still available at some stores.
Managed to get a couple more thanks!

  • I've been putting this off, but if I buy multiple instances of the Optus USB Modem, do I get multiple codes, ergo more Netflix???

    • +3

      yep :)
but you have to activate the SIM to get the code

Then when you get the code, you get the money.

Then when you get the money, you get the power.

Then when you get the power, then you get the women.

      • I thought it was sugar ;-)

      • If you activate 2 do you get 6 months?

  • Are existing Netflix customers able to use the code? Or is it just for new sign ups like the Stan and SMH deal?

    • Existing members can use the code. You can also stack the codes if you want to do more than 1.

If I buy a prepaid phone before 4 July, do I need to register the sim before that date to access the netflix offer?

    • +1

Yes, you then have until mid September 2015 to apply the Netflix codes to your Netflix account

  • Anyone know how you unlock the Huawei E5251?

  • How do i use these usb modems. Do u need to plug it into a laptop?

    • Yes, or desktop

  • Are the modems locked to Optus?

    EDIT:
    Some say it's unlocked https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/182234

    • +1

Unlocked but different frequencies to Telstra.
I just tried, my Telstra SIM can only get 2G :(

  • Just tried to buy it,but it didn't have the Netflix voucher on it

  • Thank you.

    Just bought 3x ZTE F286, 2x Huawei 3351, 1x Huawei 5251.

18 months of Netflix + free 6 months for signing up with Optus internet.

  • The box at officeworks didn't say anything about Netflix so I didn't buy it,did I miss something?

    • It wouldn't say anything m8, it's a Bonus Offer from Optus

  • If I were to get a few of these, would I need to activate each SIM card with its packaged modem, or can I just activate them all online and not even put them in the modem, or all from one modem? Is the SIM card already inside or is it separate and I have to put it in? What about getting multiple prepaid mobiles, do you need to put the sims in the mobile they come with?

    • As long as you simply activate the sims you'll get your codes. I've been cycling through the sims from the usb modems on my WiFi modem for the data as a bonus with no problem.
The choices on the phones are smsd so it's kinda easier to just use the same phone?

      • Do the netflix code get sent by sms to the sims from the modems?

        • they do for the phones, I asked Optus today and livechat said they would be emailed for mobile broadband sims

        • optus actually told me the wrong thing! they said they would be emailed to us however i just checked my recently activated modem and the code was SMSed - check it via the web interface on the modem

        • @bdl:

Hey BDL - I just purchased some modems - and just wondering when you say the web interface of the modem, could you explain how to get to that? apologies for the stupid question - but I just purchased some and activated it - using a sim at the moment in my galaxy tab.

        • if anyone has successfully received their netflix code for the e5251 wifi modem: Is there any way to get the code link without using/opening the actual modem?
(is it possible to put the sim in a normal phone and get the sms as a "normal" sms?)

          thanks in advance

        • +1

@stonedewok: I bought 4 x USB modem and 1 x e5251. I activated them all at the same time and so far I have received 2 emails with netflix links. For the phones I got an sms but for modems it looks like they send emails.

        • @daveaus: Champion! thanks for the helpful reply

  • Inside netflix account management portal does it show and display anything after the voucher code is applied….
How would you know if the code was successfully applied to the account?

  • I just bought a couple of these, when you activate the sims to get the code, do you need to use the data in the next 30 days?

    • yes

  • Prepaid mobile customer who activates a prepaid bundled handset (handset + included SIM) or a prepaid bundled mobile broadband device (device + included SIM)

…with us between 24 March and 5 July 2015, you can get a Netflix subscription voucher!

Going by that you need to activate all sims by 5 july 2015???

    • Correct

  • I can confirm the Optus prepaid phones for 3 months works for multiples. (that is, 2 phones gets you 6 months worth, etc). I now have COP94,500 (I'm billed at the Columbian rate - about $8 for the middle plan) credit on my account. Activated them about 3 days ago and got URL by sms. URL site gives a code to use at Netflix account page.

Now to hit Officeworks for some more phones.

  • Woolies have the Samsung E3309T at 1/2 price now ($14.95).
