If you are a student or apart of one of their affiliated organisations they wave it … otherwise just cancel and move to someone like NAB that doesn't charge it.
ANZ Access
"No monthly account service fee if you deposit at least $2,000 a month, or if you meet our other eligibility criteria (normally $5 a month).
You can apply for us to waive the monthly account service fee on your Access Advantage account if any of the following apply:
You are aged under 18 or over 60
You are a full-time student at an Australian educational institution
You receive a disability support pension or mobility allowance from Centrelink
You have an ANZ Home Loan, an ANZ Residential Investment Loan or an ANZ Portfolio Facility and have your salary credited to your account
You have a combined deposit balance of $50,000 in one or more of the following ANZ accounts: ANZ Access Advantage, Access Select, Premium Cash Management, Online Saver, Progress Saver, ANZ term deposits, V2 Plus, Passbook Savings, Premier Cheque."
ANZ Access Advantage has no real advantage when compared to NAB/ING/Citibank Plus
Which means grow old, grow young, or grow sick!
I had a little chat with the ANZ branch manager about that and we agreed for no fees as long as I deposit $2000 a month to the account.
Thats just usual policy, haha. Its no bargaining chip!
INg Direct as well dont have a monthly charge
I would suggest consider others as alternative.
ING Direct is the best for personal banking imho.
move to other bank. dont give your hard earned money to those big fours they make billion profit but still outsourcing their staffs to asian countries
You shouldn't have to pay any fees to banks anymore. not in this day and age
ANZ - i have that account and just have an auto-debit/credit so that it takes $2k out of my pay and then moves it around between different banks to avoid the fees
NAB - my primary account doesn't have any fees
Most other banks have an option to avoid fees easily
I would suggest ING as well, since that 2 or 5% cashback for paywave is excellent
Thanks all
Your local branch manager has the authority to waive the account fees :-)
