65 Inch LED TV - What model to get?

Hi all,

Going to be moving into a new house within the next couple of months and with it being the end of financial year and all, I am starting to look at a new TV. Does anyone have any ideas on any good models to look at? I started looking at the LG 65 inch TV's and they look great. Read some reviews and some people are saying yes, some people are saying no. Some are saying Samsung, some are saying Sony. Just using it to watch movies and play games. JB are apparently doing a a sale at the moment on LG's but compared other places, they are really that much different. Videopro have some pretty good deals at the moment.

Looking at around the 4.5k mark.

Thanks for any input,.

  • I bought LG UF850T recently because I personally prefer LG than Sammy, Sony and Panasonic. I would say let your eyes make the decision for you.
We have not seen all 2015 product release into the market yet, so I am still expecting new models of LG, Sammy and Sony. I look forward to the Sony new TV release, because the current model looks really ugly with the speakers, especially when mounted.

If you want to buy before the end of June, then I recommend the LG UF850T model, but it depends if you want UHD, 3D and full smart on your TV. Also get the sales rep to change the video display to standard for all TVs you are viewing.

    • thanks chaz, yeah i was leaning towards lg. I have friends who have the Samsung and they said they would go the LG next time around for various reasons. I am not too sold of the Sony as I currently have a Sony and it is slow as hell loading menus, starting up, and doesn't support a lot of file formats via usb.

how much did you get your LG for? I am interested in that model.

      cheers for the tips too

      • I bought the 60" for around $3200, best price I could find 4 weeks ago. Plus it came with 9 x double Gold class movie tickets to give you an idea where I got it from.
New model of Samsung supposedly offer more natural colour, but the 60+ models are not cheap.
