Klean Kanteen - 1900ml Wide Mouth Stainless Steel Bottle. $21.95. Free Pickup or $8.95 Shipping @ Shop Naturally

100

Hi Community,

I own a couple of these bottles, and they are great!

Some relatives were visiting this weekend, and whilst finding the best bargain due to the poor aussie dollar (compared to when I ordered mine from the US via amazon), I stumbled on this site.

Shipping was $8.95, regardless of how many are ordered or they have free pickup in Tuggerah 2259.

Second cheapest I found was from feeBay for $38.90, without any further discounts due to combined shipping.

Drink up!

what $30 for a empty bottle?
    more money than sense.

Doesn't seem like a terrible deal for a drink bottle to me.

Not that i'd buy this mind you because I always lose the things at my gym so I stick to bottled water bottles to drink from … but of i didn't it looks quite nice.

    • These are a quality product designed to last, literally, a lifetime. My uncle still has his Sigg bottle from the late 70's still going strong.

Klean Kanteen also sell separate lids so if you lose it, no need to buy a whole new bottle.

  • Seems reasonable to me. I've heard enough bad things about plastic bottles from qualified people to encourage me to seek better options. Thanks OP, I bought one.

The "bad things" that this company is vaguely inferring in it's marketing by using words like "healthy", "food-grade steel" and claiming they don't use toxic epoxies or "plastic" like other people are posioning you is made up for people without a better reference.

The reality is most plastics are safe for food (even the one's that aren't used for food) and no one at all is selling harmful plastics into the highly regulated Australian food supply.

      • my mum keeps moaning about plastic food/drink containers, aluminium causing alzheimers, claiming she can taste the plastic that's "leached" into the water. i told her to replace all our plastic containers and drink bottles (especially the brita fill & go bottles she mostly complains about) with glass or steel, she still hasn't done so.

      • My endocrinologist suggested otherwise recently. And suggested plastics do impact upon hormone levels a person has.

      • you need to know when you use hot liquid, plastic is no matching with metal or silicon(I think that's the name), and plastic will be changed and released something when time pass as well. Beside that it does have food-grade steel.

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

You're coming up short on topics out of your league once again, with your silly cognitive dissonance.

Literally all plastic containers will leech contaminants into stored food or liquids when exposed to enough heat, light or rough handling. It's a question of when and how much; not if.

  • i like these bottles but after a couple of year's use had 2 bottles start rusting from the inside on the weld seam. (one started rusting from the outside as well in the same spot but strangely no leaks). i still use them since they don't leak and the water tastes fine

    • @tdw,

That's weird that it's rusting… could it possibly the source of water your using has extra minerals?

I've had mine for 6 months, and haven't seen any rusting.

I believe they have a lifetime warranty, so just take it back, and see what they say.

      • maybe it's the water, though i usually fill them up with filtered water. i bought most of my kk bottles from the US when the exchange rate was good. don't want to send them back because they're still more or less usable.

  • I have a couple of these bottles in the smaller size and I find it quite hard to clean inside the lid especially around the silicon seal. I've since changed to bottles where the thread of the lid goes into the bottle and not on the outside of the bottle. I paid more for my 1182mL than this bigger bottle which makes this a good deal.

    • @rabbitron,

These ones that I posted have the 'wide mouth' opening, and I find it really easy to clean. Also it doesn't have any silicon, so maybe it's a different type??

Also, I paid quite a bit more, as I bought mine from Amazon. Not sure why these are discounted to half price.

  • Looks like shipping to WA is $11.51. Still a good price, though.

  • great price. Was looking at purchasing one of these for ~$40 last week.

    Grabbed two!

      @wezza,

That's why I posted this, as I was surprised how cheap it was, compared to what it cost me.

It's great to be able to give back to the community.
