So I've owned my Sodastream Source machine for just over 18 months and have found myself using it more then I anticipated. It's convenient and has saved me the hassle of purchasing and storing store bought bottles in the fridge.
Several times I've calculated how many bottles I'm able to carbonate on a full 60L cylinder which normally costs around $20 per exchange and found the cost to be very similar of if I were to purchase the equivalent 1L home brand soda at my local supermarket. For a while I was contemplating a CO2 adapter and cylinder but now starting to think if it would be worthwhile long term. Considering the initial cost outlay of both adapter and cylinder and then finding somebody locally to refill it once it's empty.
Anybody have any suggestions? Anybody here use something else to reduce the cost of using their Sodastream?
I'm located West of Melbourne CBD if that helps and looking for a cylinder small enough to store on top of the fridge on hidden away somewhere. Links and any help appreciated.
