How Does Netflix Works?

We all enjoy sitting on a couch and watching unlimited movies and Tv shows on Netflix. Netflix is a huge successor no doubt.
But does anyone have good knowledge on how it works?

I know Netflix is legal and host movies and shows but isn't it similar as movie hosting sites like movies4k?
What does makes Netflix legal? does Netflix pay certain % of amount to content creators?

Just curious how it works…

    Well they likely have a deal with content creators to have their shows or movies on there. Netflix also do their own content.

    They have contracts with studios to show that studios content.
    Most streaming services have (probably cheap) access to ABC, SBS, BBC.
    Netflix also pays for exclusivity with Disney.

    Netflix pay BIG money for content. It's the same system as television rights.

    They can only show what they've paid for.
