Good price for this series. The UK release is authored using the same video and audio as the Madman Entertainment release which goes for ~$40 individually at JB for 2 discs (or $160 for 8 discs in total).

As for the release itself (and same goes for the Madman releases) it suffers from field blending and hasn't transitioned to the film->pal conversion like newer releases. To the non trained eye, it's not noticeable but worth mentioning regardless. I believe this was done to keep consistency throughout the series.

Edit: I forgot to mention that these are region 2 discs and hence will not work on Australian consoles (PS2/PS3/PS4/Xbox360/XboxOne). However it should have no issues on computers or the majority of standalone players (unless it's > 12 years old).

I can't remember what Series 1 was about?
I recalled that Naruto was a bit better than Shippuden.

  Shippuden is the continuation of the original Naruto Series.
  
  As a whole, I prefer Shippuden as it has a somewhat more mature storyline and characters compared to that of the original series. But I recommend watching the original series first (up to episode 136) before watching Shippuden.
