Is Parking Ever Included at Any Sydney CBD Hotels?

So I'm booking 2 nights in Sydney with my girlfriend for my birthday. We only live a few hours away from Sydney so we are going to drive up there. I have been looking at hotels for a few days now and the thing that always gets me is the ridiculous prices they can charge for parking, the highest I've seen is $69 per car per night. So basically I have been looking at Wotif.com for all the rates, then having to go to each hotels website and find out what they charge for parking, to get our actual rate per night.

Before I go any further I want to say I understand that it is Sydney City and parking is limited, and some people wouldn't have cars that are staying at these places.

I was wondering if OzB had any ways around paying these crazy parking rates, or know of any hotels where were parking is included?

The best I've found so far is Adina Apartments Chippendale. 2nd July - 4th July is $326.40 plus $18/night parking = $362.40.
We are going to the SCG and probably do things around the CBD mostly so somewhere close to there, or close to public transport that will get us to those places.

I like that parking isn't included in the room rate. If I don't have a car, why should I pay for it?

I hate paying for parking on top of my room rate! It's drip pricing!

I don't mind paying for parking on top of my room rate.

  • I got parking at the Park Hyatt in Sydney. I didn't have to pay for it since it was funded by the university. Apparently it costs $45 for valet parking. >.>

Paying that much for parking in Australia is insane. If the everyone just stopped for a moment from their "busy" lives and looked at a map and saw the size of this country, land prices / parking would drop in half over night.

I highly recommend everyone drive to their next nearest capital city (maybe on Australia Day?) to see how much land is available and why paying $69 - a day - for parking might make sense for Singapore or Hong Kong, but is utterly mentally ill for Australia.

    Just my 2 cents. lol

If your car is an old hyundai excel then I'd park on street a few stations away on the north shore line, only cost is 2 short train rides.

  • Annam Apartments at Darlinghurst used to include parking. So did the Hyde Park Inn. No idea if either still does, you'd have to call. Quite a few used to throw it in with special packages, but lately we've given up on the city, stayed somewhere like Ryde or Artarmon and caught the train in.

They're starting to do it in Brisbane now too, which is utterly ridiculous.
