        • @HandsomeMonkey: I ordered mine on the 21st of June and got the despatch notification on the 28th.

If yours was posted on the 19th and you still don't have yours, I'm starting to think it could still be a long way away.

        • @gtr33m:

Product listed as 60 days delivery.

        • @HandsomeMonkey: Yes I know, but it doesn't usually take this long from dispatch. The time listed on the JD website from dispatch is 5-12 business days.

        • @gtr33m: I have the same sort of tracking info. Curious to know when this will arrive. Mine was dispatched on 1 July… by the end of the month would be nice :)

    • Hi Codename47, when did you buy this one.

      • Hey mate,

I bought this on 22 June after the deal was published here.

I am sure it's gonna take whole month. If not, more

Mine has updated as well, and includes arrival at Singapore airport. Hopefully this is just transshipment and will leave Singapore without too much delay.

    • Hopefully it's worth a wait.

  • JD were really clear on the shipping time, so we all went in with our eyes open to the wait, it's just that they sent out shipping confirmation emails that made us think the phone would be here soon.

The shipping confirmations seem erroneous. Actual shipment seems to just be happening now.

    • You're not wrong!

  • Yup. Same for me. Odd they sent them all out at such similar times - guess bulk processing of orders.

    • I think so, that's the reason we just paid 0.96 for postage.Did anyone use DHL and received it?

  • Woohoo, looks like I'm in country! (or at least a place called Ausyd)

    AUSYD
    Despatched to ATC

Hopefully I'll see it before the end of the week.

    • Does that means it's in Sydney already ? May be you can take lend them your GTR for a faster delivery :p

      • They'd probably just run around delivering everyone else's so that they wouldn't have to return the car. I would get it last!

        • I'd do the same if I have RB26dett under the hood ;)

    • +1

I think ATC = Airmail Transit Centre. It's likely that AUSYD is the intended destination. I wouldn't be expecting it this week.

      • Unfortunately, I think you may be right. At least there is some movement.

        • Pretty sure they have strapped it to the back of a turtle; can't take too long heh.

  • Awesome!!!

I've ordered mine on 19th June and received a delivery notice on the day but on the tracking showed dispatched on the 30th. I guess it was a bulk delivery and the phones will arrive at the same time. Since I lived in woopwoop land, I'll be expecting it next week.

Please update this post if anyone receive the phone this week. ;)

Got one delivered. Was open and had scratches on screen protector. 20% battery. Now I need to play around.

    • +1

Can you tell us what your 4px shipping tracking manifest looks like?

It's not going to make our orders arrive any faster, but it might give an idea if it's around the corner or on the other side of the world ;)

      • "Can you tell us what your 4px shipping tracking manifest looks like?"
No idea what your on about bro. We don't do English at Queano….

        • It's the tracking service from JD if that's were you got your phone from. It doesn't work very well, but you can go into the 4px web site and put your details in.

A bunch of us have done it, instructions are on the first page of posts, but none of us really know what the details mean, so can't really tell how far away our phones are. Your's having arrived might shed some light on the details.

Don't worry about it too much, the phones will arrive when they arrive. Knowing when won't change how fast they get here.

    • What do you mean scratches on screen protector? There's screen protector on it already? Custom inspection?

      • Yeah the scratches on the plastic film on this screen suggested the phones had been well used/experimented on.

    • Oh, also i ordered white but they sent yellow.

  • +1

Paid DHL express still not received it. And my account was locked and could not unlock. Sent emais and no responds. Worst customer service and never shopping with them again.

    • +1

DHL also showed 60days delivery. Why did you choose it? 4PX is $0.95 and 60days delivery, DHL $16.00 and also 60 days delivery. Why on earth would you pick DHL??

      • -1

I remeber it said 3~7 days for express otherwise would not pay extra money. But now checking their website, all of them take 60 days.

        • +1

No man, there's no option for that. You must have mistaken it with another company. JD stated 60days for both.

        • These was what they said on their email

  • Need to try the Indian ROM now so I can get red of the annoying bloatware….

    • I know few people who already bought few of these. I'll check with them and post here.
I am still waiting on my one, shows AUMEL from last wednesday !Crappy service

    • +1

Let us know how the Indian ROW Rom is compared to the stock one that came with it. VibeUI 2.8 is out also if you want to try it. http://www.vibeui.com/vibeui/rom?key=k3%20note

      • Not very tech savvy but lets see how I go. I've been told of AOSP ROM too….

      • Got a link to the K3 ROW ROM?

      • Installed the Indian/Rest of World official ROM following the steps on Reddit. Went smoothly and the ROM is very smooth! Got a couple of OTA factory updates and got a bunch of apps preloaded which I didn't want. Just installed them no fuss without the need to root. A huge relief after banging my head against the Chinese ROM and the associated bloatware. Well done Lenovo!

        • +1

Awesome!! Can't wait to get mine next week. Yirrkala is too far from Melbourne :(

  • Anyone else received theirs yet? It seems like only Spy received his..

    • I am still waiting for mine. Called Austpost yesterday, my item already at sydney, delivery around mid next week. Another week waiting.

      • How did you know what reference to use with AusPost?

        • You can call Auspost 1800 007 678 with your Singapore post tracking "RxxxxxxxxxxSG" to find out your parcel status.

  • +1

Not me, I'm starting to think it's coming from Singapore by row boat.

Really regretting having sold my other phone early! The old bottom of the drawer HTC is really struggling.

    • LOL, Why not wait until you get the new phone before selling off your old one?

      • +1

Because I'm stupid, stupid, stupid. In my stupidity, I thought that once it reached Singapore it was a hop skip and a jump away.

  • I received mine just today its white and looks pretty good for what I paid

now time to test it. Battery was already in the phone, just make sure you take the battery tape out or it won't start up

The interface is so crap! need to install custom rom soon

    • Get the ROW ROM and install another launcher like Nova or Google Launcher…

      • ah thanks, I used to install custom roms into samsung galaxy series.

        I hope it's easy

too many ads and shit popping up all the time, annoying

  • +2

just wanted to give some feedback , 4g works like charm. I am on vodafone network and the time I left from work and till richmond 4g was flashing so all good.

coming to rooting, I used this video. Pretty good
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3TQH-zHvwo&feature=youtu.be

once you are done with above, install root checker to confirm and then use the video to install Cynogen Mod
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XtGSjZgwBU
download the files that he says in his link and you're done

    • Good to hear, congrats on receiving the phone early. I guess the phone is worth the 169$ I paid for.

      • +1

        It definitely is!
I love it (coming from G3 owner, not as good as g3 but hey we paid 30% of the price)

don't use the above cynogenmod , the network doesn't work and WIFI cuts off. so I installed more stable ROW rom and got OTA update as well already.

Let me know if you guys need any help with installation.

PLEASE NOTE: Don't waste your time installing Cynogen MOD, It's full of bugs at the moment.

  • Just got this phone, and flash to india ROW ROM, working smoothing and perfectly.

The india ROM is only VIBEUI 2.0, can online update to latest version, but there is original Google Apps, and no malware has been found (scan by malwarebytes).

After root the ROM can not be updated online anymore, so give up yet.

Mobile battery is not good, and takes so long time for charging.

    • use the wallcharger from your old samsung phone or lg

  • Just wondering if anyone else's phone has arrived yet? I ordered on June 22. No sign of it yet and the tracking on the JD my account page doesn't seem to work.

    • Please contact the JD customer service. Apparently seller don't have buyer's email id. After I contacted the JD customer service, seller contacted me with the following email.

      Dear valued customers,
Thanks for your order in our store.
Sorry for not notice instantly because we don't have customer emails and cannot contact directly before.
As we receive notice that some defect go with this batch of K3 note White edition
Thus, we have recalled back this batch, and sorry for the inconvenience.
And if you want to wait the new batch of white, it will need one more week.
So we advise that you could exchange to K3 Note Yellow edition, and we can arrange sending for you ASAP.
Look forward to your early reply.

I assume they posted atleast this time to me.

      • Thank you srirg. Much appreciated. I will contact them asap. Gees that is annoying of them.

      • Thank you very much for the update srirg. I've been trying to contact the Etstar seller for some time now via their internal message system with no response. I ordered the white K3 on the 21st of June 2015 and waited the 7 days processing and it was allegedly sent out on the 28th July.

I've sent an email now hoping for a response for validation. I am just going to wait for "a new batch" of white K3's since I've already waited this long. I knew the process would take a while but at the same time I was hoping it wouldn't take too long :)

  • Mine arrived today, ordered June 20.

    BW to y'all…

  • Mine arrived this morning. No issues so far. It's been opened as everyone else's has, presumably to install the bloatware.

I haven't connected to anything yet, going to flash the ROM first before anything.

Don't forget to pull the tape off the battery!

    • I mentioned that already in my post to pull the tape off.

Flash the Indian ROW Rom,the scatter file is in bin folder. Good luck

      • Yes thanks for the heads up. I was starting to think that the phone was DOA before remembering your post.

        • No probs, flashing done ? Don't waste time adding the custom ROMS at this time. Not any stable one yet

        • +1

          @codename47:
Just a quick heads up for those who are just receiving their phones:

Flash the international update as above, and then there are two OTA updates, 17 meg then 250 meg, before adding your apps and signing in to your Google account. It will make the process quicker and likely leave less junk files around.

        • @gtr33m: Thanks man, I had done the 17Mb , I just checked the second one is 296MB doing now as we speak.

  • Codename47, which instructions did you follow to install the ROW rom? I have watched a few of the various installation tutorials from rootjunky, etc. they used cm12 or limonchelo and the methods were really clear and easy to follow. I haven't found anything as clear for ROW. Being an absolute newb to rooting/flashing…. I don't want to try it unless I can see exactly what to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

    • Don't use RootJunky's ROM, that's full of bugs.

      Follow this https://www.reddit.com/r/lenovok3note/wiki/stockroms

      Download the ROM - https://cloud.mail.ru/public/7RTL/N474YBKte

      Download SP FlashTool: https://mega.co.nz/#!B4ATlDQb!KLFbwS4AimfasoKbiLG5qL708ixJMp…

Extract the 900+mb file and keep it on your desktop in one folder.

Install the drivers of your phone and literally use this:

      Usage Instructions:

      1. Unzip both FlashTool and ROM.
      2. Install Lenovo drivers.
      3. Run Flash_tool.exe (right click the file, choose "Run as administrator")
      4. For scatter loading file, choose the MT6752_Android_scatter.txt in ROM (found in target_bin folder). Wait for files to be added.
      5. In the dropdown menu below scatter loading file, make sure "Download Only" is selected.
        choose Options-> Option-> Connection -> USB -> High Speed
choose Options-> Option -> Download -> DA DL All with Checksum (make sure it's ticked)
      6. Turn off your phone completely
      7. Press the download button
      8. Connect your phone into the computer via USB cable.
      9. The process will start and a red progress bar will appear after color purple, yellow.
      10. And green circles display
      11. Finish! Turn the phone on and sit back relax

Please let me know if you are not sure :)

      • Thank you for taking the time to provide such a detailed reply.
My phone hasn't arrived as yet but when it does, I will give this a go.
        Thanks again. :-)

        • No probs, let me know if you get stuck. Install the drivers , rootjunky has them on his website.

      • Also after your 2 OTA updates are done go into Apps and uninstall all the "Downloaded" apps like Facebook, Asphalt etc.

      • thanks heaps. Just got the firmware updated. It works very well.

  • FML I paid USD $150 for this phone 2 weeks ago

  • Thanks to all the helpers posting links and howto guides. I got an auspost pickup your parcel note in my mailbox this afternoon. Hope it's my K3Note :D

Have to wait till 9am tomorrow before I can pick it up. Time to download a couple of things linked in this thread to prepare for tomorrow.

    • Picked it up this morning. Got meetings till lunch time. Can't play :(

It looks the goods, white K3 Note.

      • Good luck with your new toy.

      • Great! Don't set it up without flashing the ROW rom.

        • Thanks guys. I've had a quick look at it. Meeting got cancelled (awesome). I haven't put my SIM in it yet.

Looked at the original room for curiosity (garbage I know) once that was satisfied I gathered the FlashTool + ROW ROM and flashed it without issue and did the 2 OTA updates and removed all the crap apps.

Coming from a Galaxy S3 this is a massive upgrade. Literally getting used to the 5.5" handset.

Once I've installed my usual apps and had a play I'll finally put my SIM in it. I've been able to do everything over WiFi thus far.

I am actually glad I did not get this phone sooner as I've been lurking watching various roms/comments & information/flash processes come out from the early adopters.

        • @iOURIveN: Good on you man

I got slim case for it incase you're finding the phone's grip a bit slippery !

          I bought one of these

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/151694639798?_trksid=p2060353.m27…

          pretty thin
Hope you are liking your phone!

        • @codename47:

Just installed Nova Launcher and liking that alot. Hopefully no quirks.

Thanks for the ebay cover link, I have a another cover but that one looks good so I grabbed one, less than a price of a coffee how can I go wrong.

You're right it's slippery one! my S3 cover is grippy for that purpose.

ROW ROM: Any nasties/surprises/quirks I should look out for? I've pretty much deleted anything I don't need or disabled it (without breaking anything thus far).

Once I put my SIM in I'll find out if things like LED notifications work and if Telstra 3G/4G data/radio drops out unexpectedly requiring a reboot of the phone. I experienced that with some ROMs on my S3 in the past.

        • @iOURIveN: You are right

buy a tempered glass for it too just in case it's around the same price as well

After the 2nd OTA I had to remove some crappy apps and games that got installed as a surprise package.

I get 4g data network on my vodafone, the notification light works when I have miss calls etc.
Telstra delivers crappy firmwares, the network dropping issue is one of the major one with them. I had Telstra HTC One M7, I had to wait for the OTA FIX to get it working.

  • So now that I've had for a whole day and got it setup properly, a couple of comments for those still thinking of one of these phones.

The build quality is surprisingly good. The screen is beyond surprisingly good. I've put the screen next to an iPhone 6 plus and its as good if not better. Maybe not once it gets a few scratches, but we'll see.

As others have mentioned, it's a slippery phone! Weird as it sounds, using it one handed it feels as though it could go flying from your hand with ease. A case would help I think, but something thin.

The sense ui, even when updated is pretty crap as a launcher, but OK otherwise. If recommend going straight to an alternative like nova or Google now.

Now that I've used it, I really like the charging port on the top. It works well in the car and with earphones in as both are in the same side.

One minor gripe is the navigation buttons having no back light. I don't know why they didn't, and its no big issue, but in the dark I find I've missed the exact spot of the button a few times.

Accessories are a bit light in the ground at the moment, but I'm sure that will change. On that note, I have an aluminium cover for it, which looked great but to me makes a thin phone into a thick phone.

    • I agree!

Build Quality is awesome for what we actually paid, few cons as you noted above are the slippery material used and other is no gorilla glass. I had ordered thin TPU cover and it fits perfectly and makes it better to hold (no more slipping issues)
I've already ordered the tempered glass protector from ebay to avoid any scratches.

There is no APP drawer on the ROW rom, will wait for some custom rom that is stable.

No navigation button lights does make it look stupid in the dark but I got used to it now

  • Question for the masses,

Is it possible to setup wireless charging on the K3 note yet? It has a nice big battery but I'm not a fan of wearing out micro-usb sockets for charging purposes. And is wireless charging just as effective as wired or are there draw backs?
