Some great deals on lenses

My personal picks would be:

Zeiss Biogon 35mm f2 for $803 which is cheapest I have seen by far
http://www.camerapro.com.au/zeiss-biogon-t-35mm-f-2-0-zm-sil…

And

Fuji 56mm f1.2 r for $988
http://www.camerapro.com.au/fujifilm-fujinon-xf-56mm-f1-2-r-…

And

Olympus 75mm f1.8 for $755
http://www.camerapro.com.au/olympus-m-zuiko-75mm-f-1-8-telep…

And
Sony 16-35mm f4 $1303

Note shipping charges and PayPal surcharge applies so cash pickup will be cheapest or go out there and price match.

Enjoy!

  • prettt good price, but the shipping and surcharges kind of killing the deal a bit, still much cheaper than those big names. Good job!

    • just an update - my local JB price matched the olympus M.Zuiko 12-40mm for me without the delivery and surcharge. So $764 can get you the pro lens for micro four third fans. Teds was doing sale before and it was $818 and Digital Camera Warehouse is $789. RRP $899.

Can't believe it is cheaper to buy a lens here than in USA or Hong Kong!

      Thank you for the deal!

    $240

Seems reasonable. Too bad I already ordered one a week ago from elsewhere to put on my A6000.
Now give me a deal on an A7ll! Maybe after the A7rll release I guess or if we sell more coal to the Chinese.

  • Some bargains there, not everything but there are a few.

  • Just normal prices, if you ask me.

  • Thanks mate… Just saw the deal on their Facebook Page. Might grab the sigma 150-600 mm.
The price is below B&H PHOTO

    • B&H charge premium pricing, and only go as far as to match Amazon pricing for the odd deal. For most things local pricing is cheaper.

After the Sigma deal posted at Camerapro on Tuesday night I had a look and that seemed to be a little cheaper than the going rate for lenses, so 10% of the listed prices looks good.

Is the discount applied at checkout?

      • Prices are listed with discount included.

        • Damn.

        • Yep thought so. I was being a smart arse over the way the retailers are all heading to dodgey practice before their sales. But was hoping for a real good price. The Oly 12-40 mentioned above does seem great value, especially considering the end of last years price.

I just checked these guys out on the Web Archive and by phone, and they seem to be mostly doing the right thing. I did catch them out on a few products where they played with the price just before the 10% off sale. Worst was the Pana 20mm f1.7 - 10% off at $340 - a bit above the average street price. Their computer showed that at changed from $378 at 4pm at the sale start. Checking web archive shows it was selling for $309. So yes, they have massaged a bit.

        • @Major Mess: the Zeiss and the fuji in my post are also good and genuine reductions. Been watching them for a month or more…

        • @drb:
Not quite. The Fuji 56mm was $1049 on the 9th of this month. I would have bought it if not for the increase.

        • @fenger: and now it is $988 so it is cheaper now and I'm confident it is the cheapest online.

  • is this good enough to replace those lens from the canon 700D twin kit? http://www.camerapro.com.au/sigma-18-250mm-f3-5-6-3-dc-macro…

  • I just had a look on The Digital Picture web site, but he hasn't reviewed it. He has an image comparison of the Sigma on a 50D.
Have a look compared to the Canon you have. Change the drop down on the right to change to the other kit lens for the 55-250mm.

Looks to be a fair downgrade in image quality except for around 55mm on the Sigma(bad focal length for the kit lenses being at the extremes). The sigma corners are pretty bad compared and mid frame is not much better.

Are you trying to get out of having to carry two lenses around?

If you don't need such a long reach, what about the Canon EF-S 18-135 IS STM lens, and your camera can take advantage of the STM for video? I haven't checked how much they go for locally, but Kogan has it for $369 and the grey importers seem to be around $390.
Being a current kit lens you might find one on ebay at a great price.

    Compared here against the Sigma.
