Hi all,
I'm looking for a tablet for home use. I'm mainly looking at using it for some work items at home (typing up documents, using excel) as well as web browsing/facebook and some Netflix.
I'm set on a Windows tablet and have been considering getting the Surface 3 (with the keyboard). So my price limit is under $800 all up.
I've been looking around for some other devices that have similar (or better) specs. My main focus is on viewing angle (for Netflix) and ease of use as a tablet (but I want the option to use it as a full laptop).
Are there any other 2-in-1 devices that I should look at? the Lenovo Flex 3 I'm considering (although the battery life isn't that great) mainly for the Harvey Norman deal. Any suggestions?
Thank you!

(….2GB of RAM? for that price?)
Is it impossible to get more than 2GB, at any price?
What about the Toshiba Satellite L30W? http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/computers/satellite/l30…
That worthwhile?ehhh… LED Backlit Display (1366 x 768) with Capacitive Touch screen
meh, that's only 720p resolution and the display is not even IPS… so that's a bit of a let down. The weight also reads at 2.2KG, so it's bound to be bulky and heavy. Not so great when you have to hold the tablet with one hand.
I'd much prefer the Surface, or the cheap-cheap Inspiron 11.
If you can stretch your budget a little bit further, the Windows Surface 3 is the best option. Look at the Microsoft Student discounts, a student who uses a Mac may be able to help with this, if you do not qualify.
Pavillion X2 $347.98 (C&C) + $50 eBay Voucher next month.
Baytrail table with Keyboard, have HDMI port, if you C&C, you can take it to the store for return as well (if you need to). I think it's alright for its price.
There's a Dell Venue 11 Pro series, plus Inspiron 11 3000 series, both of which can be sourced cheaply if bought from the Dell Outlet.
While they're cheap, both are neither as good as the Surface 3 in terms of weight, portability, or build quality.
While I hate to say it, the Surface 3 while being rather expensive for what it is and how it's specced (I mean, 2GB of RAM? for that price?) it has excellent build quality and a nice display, along with great keyboard and stylus accessories.
