Shipping from China to Australia has always been a mystery to me. I have always wondered how taking so long makes it free to the recipient when there are such small margins to start with.

My last several orders have apparently shipped from Sweden. Makes no sense!! It is not a cheap economy and it is in the opposite direction from here.

OP - i think they're using Eastern European countries to pack stuff, then truck it to the cheapest post office to take advantage of good rates.
So Eastern Europe is cheaper than China?

Book depository has been changing posting locations a number of times. I assume it would still be packed in the same place, and they just truck the packages to a country that has cheap post rates…. taking full advantage any local subsedies.
didn't the allbuy rep say because they used a swedish courier because of battery issues? that's the only package i've ever received via sweden.
Banggood, Allbuy and Deal Extreme (sometimes) all have a Swedish postmark.
Isn't allbuy part of deal extreme?
How did you work out it was Sweden?
