I've got a flexible flight to perth and i was thinking about making my trip longer and flying international from there.
What are the most popular/competitive destinations from Perth? I've been looking at a map and Johannesburg seems to be a potential choice as well as south east asia. I'm open to any airlines/destination recommendations

Brisbane is only 300km closer to you than Singapore, not much more to travel internationally, you're so bloody far away from everything!
We are so far away from the rest of the world it really sucks sometimes. But you're right seems like not much of a difference between Brisbane and Perth to SE Asia.

What do you want in a holiday destination?
If you exclude all the FIFO planes I think the majority of planes flying out of Perth are heading to Bali - at least is seems like that anyway.
I guess Perth has everything i want in a holiday. Beach, woman, beer. I always thought Perth was a lot closer and a lot cheaper to go to certain places, but the more i look into it, the more it doesn't seem that way.
Like I said, Bali is one of the few destinations that it might be cheaper to fly to.
Even flying to Europe is cheaper from the eastern states - even though we are closer.

KL and KK (Sabah) in Malaysia, Singapore, Bangkok and a lot more. The fares are cheaper from here than eastern states
