The links are messed up, just go to Borders.com.au and buy your books as usual then enter the coupon BAU-DEC11 when you reach the checkout.
Angus bookstore are expensive. The 20% discount work on Borders website. www.borders.com.au (I tried it on 1 book).
Borders Australia is own by Angus & Robertson.
Even though the O.P. link is from UK, I can confirm it work when tested it on Dan Brown new book from Border Australia website.
It should work for Borders Australia, the sender was from @bordersmail.com.au
Considering almost every product on there can be purchased elsewhere at a cheaper price, i don't consider this to be a bargain…
The paperback version of "The Gathering Storm", the latest in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series and a New York Times #1 bestseller (so not just some crappy random book) is cheapest at Borders at the moment: $24.99, minus $5 for the 20% discount puts it at $19.99, cheaper than the next best available by over $10.
And yes, I did just buy it :P
I used booko the other day to comparison shop on a few books (after already getting prices from the Book Depository) and the prices returned by book were actually different to those shown on the Book Depository website.
it depends on the edition of the book, Book Depository often stock multiple editions of the same book and sometimes even different publishers…
@jv: OK, probably what it was then - I think I searched on the ISBN number though.
Positive from me.
Borders is a big and reputable store. Just received 20% off and Free Delivery on some books I'd normally order O/S. Seems like a good deal to me.
Also good for those books that aren't sold overseas. +ve from me.
Is worth having a look at this one imo. Just looking up cheapest copy of "Godel, Escher, Bach" on BookDepository.co.uk with 10% discount, and it works out at ~$23.70; cheapest from Borders for the book with this 20% discount applied is $23.15 (and being local, it'll come a few days earlier).
Never likely to get massive discounts versus Book Dep - and 99.9% of the time Book Dep will still be cheaper in my experience - but it is worth checking out the difference. Might get lucky.
I found the promotional code for Angus and Robertson as well
Promotional Code: EMPDEC20
same 20% discount and free shipping, i only looked at 2 titles but they were the same price, unsure if that goes for the whole of both stores
bought wheel of time Gathering Storm as well :-)
I'm currently reading the 5th book in the series…. working my way up through all of them before I get stuck into the Gathering storm.
This deal was a good find, Hintswen.
Purchased a copy of Gathering Storm too :) Have been waiting for a good price… no…. been hanging out big time for a good price I should say! And this is a darn good price.
Confirmation email of order at 9.51am and at 12.41 I receive an email that the item has been shipped. Awesome!
And it arrived at 10.15am this morning! Great first time experience with Borders Online.
just ordered today Monday 14 Dec - voucher code is still working.
Hmm… click the "20% off everything" and it goes to Angus & Robertson?
Actually… a lot of the links go to A&R or calendars.com.au
