Hi, am looking at building a basic gaming PC using an Intel Pentium G3258. I am planning on overclocking it to about 4.7Ghz which I see can perform quite well. I understand that it won't be fantastic but can you guys please recommend me a build including monitor, mouse and keyboard for under $600? Don't have to worry about the cost of Windows as I already have a copy. Thanks.

Maybe hunt Gumtree etc for an i5 setup
As I said, I already have a copy of windows. Monitor $130, CPU $90, GPU - used gtx 660 $110, keyboard and mouse combo $50, motherboard $100, $120 left for a case and PSU. Does that sound right? And if it does, would you be able to recommend some parts for the prices that I have stated? Thanks
I said that I would get a used gtx 660 as my GPU for $110. Thanks for the help though. I can't believe I forgot about memory.
You didn't make it clear if your GTX 660 was part of the $600 budget, so that's why I'm making it clear that my list of parts did not include one.
also, if you plan on overclocking the Pentium you're also going to need a decent air cooler.

research Z97 mbs… asus and ga are your two majors, i dont mind asrock and msi either but many dont
ram? i'd just buy whatever msy or mwave have on special ie. gskill kingston 1600 4gb x 2 kit, go for a 16Gb kit if you can afford it (only $150 really)
buy whatever case you like
not terribly hard since you already have gpu and cpu picked
Sorry everyone, but I have decided against buying a PC and am instead just getting a Nintendo Wii.

Mouse and keyboard
$44I just made a quick build useing parts from msy your gpu and 130 for monitor and it came to $589
MB wasnt anything fancy though.
For $600 I will probably just get an Alienware Alpha i3.
You won't be gaming with that unfortunately… a monitor will cost you $130 minimum, a KB and mouse probably $50 bucks unless you went super cheap and got generics, so that leaves you perhaps $450 for a build.
A build like that would not fit in a genuine gaming grade graphics card, so you might end up with something rather low end UNLESS you buy second hand components. I would start off with perhaps, a second hand GPU, something like a Radeon 7870 could be had for perhaps $100~120 dollars according to FeeBay.
you may also need to hunt for a second hand PC case, and will usually sell very cheaply on eBay so that's a possible saving of $40~50 dollars.
With a low budget of $600 thats very hard to work with. Also, keep in mind Windows is a minimum of $100 dollars unless you went and bought product keys from Reddit, in which case it'll cost you around $20 USD (or $30 AUD). Or go with Steam OS (for free).
