Grey Import Seller with The Best Warranty Service?

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a phone off a grey import seller. Obviously, I don't expect the same on the spot fix as the Australian models being sold at JB Hi-Fi, Dick Smith etc, but I'm looking for a seller who will actually respond to your email if you request a repair as I've been hearing that some sellers (Kogan, even eGlobal based on a post from 5 years ago) do not respond to you for ages.

At the moment I'm looking to buy the phone from DWI, eGlobal, Kogan or Quality Deals and I'd like to hear your experiences with them in terms of warranty. Thanks guys

  • Hi,

Bought a Note 2 from Kogan a few years back. Had a problem with the charging port and sent it in for repair…came back with the same problem. Kogan however were very apologetic and sent a completely new phone.

  • Would advise against dWI given that your no 1 criteria is warranty service. They seem to do their best to get out of it any way they can. Claiming water damage where there has been no exposure to moisture is a regular complaint that is made against them.

  • DWI is the worst online company I have ever dealt with.

The customer service is unbelievably bad. They only have a phone number for taking orders and then all warranty correspondence is by email from their 'RMA' team in Hong Kong.

I have been trying to get a 'dead' Moto G phone repaired since the 29th January. It has since then been returned three times without even being able to be switched on.

Avoid this company! They are not dealing with for any amount of saving. The risk is just too high.

  • Thanks guys. Ended up buying Z3 Compact from Kogan. It's been a week since I've ordered and I'm still yet to receive my order. It's pretty poor compared to eGlobal digital and Quality deals 3-5 day delivery time period, but it seems like Kogan has somewhat okay warranty service compared to them.
