Looking for a Home Theatre Projector

Hello mates ,Been thinking about buying a budget projector for a while.basically shortlisted to a short throw Benq w1080st or w1080st+.. Had to give it a pass for the last few deals on 1080st when they were on $999 with 2 3d glasses. Now i have seen a 1080st+ with glasses for $1340 delivered in myprojectors.com.au with 2 year local warranty.Any reviews on the seller? Benq website doesn't give enough info about their distributors (when we filter for projectors)..Elite electronics and cplonline too have prices around $1300..How are these guys? ..Looking for your valuable suggestions..

  • I am looking for the same thing so interested to hear the comments here…

  • Use the Projector calculator on Projector Central to ensure that the Short Throw models are actually what you want for your desired screen size and room layout.

Personally I don't like the DLP projectors.. The rainbow effect isn't huge for me, when I watch at a friend's place, but I think I'd get annoyed by it if I "had to" use it every day.
@wildbobcat - If you don't need/want Short Throw, the cheapo Benq W1070(?) puts out a good picture for less than $1000 and the lower end Home Theatre Epson LCD PJ's are in the same $1300 price range, so definitely worth looking at.

  • @scubacoles- Any idea on how the led projectors are..There is an LG one for $1600

    • No idea, I would imagine comparatively dim though.
I think it's too early for LED..

  • I have heard the LED projectors are alot bigger than DLP. But should last a lot longer.

  • I'm still waiting for a deal on 4K projectors. I think the cheapest from Sony is still around $10k, just a tad above my budget. Any year now the price will drop below $3k.
