CCTV IP Cameras

Hi All,

I work at a school and i'm looking at putting 8 Cameras in to protect the school. Recently there has been a high number of theft within the suburb.

Does anyone have recommendations on cameras:

Look for IP Cameras that are power over ethernet. I think I want good IR and 1080.

Anyone with recommendations of product suppliers?

    There are many potential answers to your question, with a variety of opinions and many other websites with long threads. As this is OzBargain I will offer a cheap route:

    As a home based user I upgraded a few of my IP cameras 6 months ago to the Hikvision DS-2CD2032. Long name, but it is the base version of the Swann HD-820CAM and some others but at a cheaper pricepoint. It is 1080p at 30fps.

    Mine have all been running cool and flawlessly with Power over Ethernet and nil downtime that I have seen.

    The 4mm wide FOV camera is probably suitable for most of your applications but a good review of the narrow FOV 12mm version is:

    As for purchasing, there are a few avenues but the cheapest semi-reputable seller based on online suggestions (and where I ordered from) is:

      Hi,

      Does BlueIrisSoftware able to do remote backup to the cloud?

      I suspect, when you install this software, you are no longer need to use the software from HikVision?

    I recommend HikVision DS-2CD2332 cams as well. Great performer….!!

    Hikvision POE NVR's are fantastic as well and are a snap to setup with the above cams.

    8 cams and an 8 POE NVR will set you back around $2k from overseas suppliers.
