Hardfloor Vacuum Cleaner

I currently live in a two storey place with tiles downstairs and in the upstairs bathrooms and have laminate upstairs and the staircase. I'm looking for the most suitable vacuum cleaner with a budget of $150-200 (rules out any Dysons). I have allergies so need something that won't kick up the dust and I'd prefer something lightweight that I can move from upstairs to downstairs with ease. A lot of reviews I've read on certain cheaper models is that they lose suction after the first few cleans and then die quite quickly as well.

I've currently inherited my parents' old Wetherim that uses vacuum bags and the stick is currently held together by tape but falls off all the time. It's also really heavy making it a pain to carry up and down the stairs.

Would appreciate any advice.

I've seen Godfrey's recent sale (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/196950) had the Philips Powerpro compact for sale of $119 which seems to get some good reviews and Miele S771 for $199.

  • For hard-floor vacuum cleaner I suggest you buy a Robotic Hard Floor Sweeper. Its run by itself for about 50 minutes with fully charge.
I had use it for 2 weeks now and it done the job.You can get 2 , 1 upstairs and 1 for downstairs.
You can find it from Bunnings warehouse ($50 each ).good luck.
