Wahl Colour Pro Hair Clipper Set $79.95 + $10 Delivered (The Shaver Shop)

102

I highly recommend this set, I have had my set for over 2 years now and they still work a treat. They are good quality clippers without being over priced and also not too cheap they need replacement within the warranty period. I also find the colour coded clips helpful. Very good set if you cut your own hair!

about $37 AUD Shipped to Australia from amazon

    • pretty sweet if you can source the AC adapter

      • just $2 converter from ebay isn't it?

Not just that. A step down power transformer. After buying that you might as well have bought the one from Shaver Shop would maybe be cheaper.

You'd blow the crap out of it if you tried to plug that 110v US market model directly into a 240v power socket. Note the US 110v model number being 79300-400

In other words there's an Australian market 240V model and then there's this USA 110V market model being sold at Amazon. Don't use the USA model on an Australian power grid if you don't want it to blow up and also possibly cause a house fire.

Buy two from Amazon for $70 shipped. Connect the 110V appliances in series (5 mins zero cost) to get a dual clipper 220V appliance. Use one in left hand and one in right hand to get your clipping done in half the time.

        • you might have just saved my life, i bought one 3 weeks ago from amazon, haven't used it yet, but was going to very soon..
as they ship to directly australia with that item, i assumed very wrongly that my $2 adapter would work with it.. i will have to double check all my orders in the future..
          thanks hollykryten

        • @rifter:

          Doesn't work like that.

        • @hollykryten:

Double the impedance (ie. double the resistance, double the inductance, double the capacitance). Of course it works like that. The only proviso being that both are identical and switched on. And, if one is off while in series both are off.

        • @rifter:

I'm no electrician but i really don't think it works like that. They would be still 110v devices being flooded with a 240v power.

That's like saying if you connect two 110v devices to an Australia power grid 240V power line they will suddenly become 240V devices. Your plan could result in a fire.

        • @hollykryten:

And they do with the proviso that they both have the same operating impedance.

PS. Mains voltage in Australia is regulated to 230V not 240V. It used to be 240V but they changed it some time ago.

        • @rifter:

No it would still be 240V power being fed into these devices which they're not designed to handle.

That would be like saying if you connect two 110V televisions in a series to a 240V power line they will suddenly only draw 110V each. Won't work like that. They will still be flooded with 240V power.

        • @hollykryten:

In series, half to each. In parallel, full 230V to each. Enough said.

        • @hollykryten:

Your two TVs are unlikely to have the same operating impedance. Even if same model both are likely to be doing different operations and drawing different current. Hence, not advisable.

        • @rifter:

Whatever. So are you an electrician?.

Any way what you say by modifying the electrical devices from its factory build status as in rewiring multiple devices together would void warranty and also to mention that it would also void the house/business insurance if the modified electrical device is the cause of a fire.

  • Is this the below trimmer

its around $35 shipped from Amazon

Be careful when buying appliances from Amazon being overseas the majority of them will be 110V appliances. One at Amazon and the one at The Shaver Shop are different models designed for different power grids.

In this case from Amazon is US market 110v model. As I said unless you want to fork out for a 240-110v step down transformer I wouldn't suggest it.

USA market 110v model is 79300-1001 as seen here: http://grooming.wahl.com/products/haircutting/color-pro

Australian market 240v model is WA79300-1112 as seen here: http://www.wahl.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&task=vie…

Just trying to save yourself from you accidentally burning down your own house due to a fire caused by a 110V hair clipper appliance being directly plugged into a 240V power socket.

  • I'm sure it's often this price from Shaver Shop.

Wahl should make crappier version, if they want to survive.

My old wahl clipper, still going strong

What do you mean. Wahl makes heaps of different Hair Clipper models.

I use the Wahl Control Pro (made in USA) myself. Works great and only $39.95 at The Shaver Shop.

      http://www.shavershop.com.au/online-store/hair-clippers/hair…

ps. Personally in my opinion i believe the Colour Pro is a bit overkill. Control Pro can do just as good of a job at half the price.

Although if want to go very overkill there's the Wahl Close Cut Pro.

He's saying that their products are so reliable and robust, they literally last forever. As a consequence, the company could go under because they won't be making money by selling new products/replacements.

        • But company still survive :)

        • I see. You mean make an inferior quality product. You mean like no longer made in USA but made in China.

        • @hollykryten:

No, I think it was an indirect compliment towards the brand.

  • $85.99 delivered here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/WAHL-COLOURPRO-Clippers-Home-Hair…

Good if you have to must get it delivered. If not in store $79.95 price at The Shaver Shop would be better if you can get to a store. Price listed on online store and in store are always the same when it comes to The Shaver Shop.
