Good price, but the specs are nothing to email home about
Not sure if there are enough specs to send an email with…

Is this a good tablet for kids? If not, alternates?
Faster processor, better IPS display. Same price.

The Asus Memo Pad HD7 ME173XX is WAY better for a bit more money:

Careful not to get tricked by the very similarly named but inferior Asus MeMo Pad 7 ME70CX-1A.
No, the screens break easy as it isn't strengthened glass.

They aren't sold out? Says more than 10 available.
it was when i checked, but yes seems they have more.
Not good value at all compared to this last year this time, espeically considering one year ago.
True. But that was then with the much higher $ and not everyone was able to get that then. I paid $170 odd for it 18 months ago and was very happy with it. Wish now I did not give it away haha.
Locked to Telstra network?
Not 3G.
I thought that said LTE and got mildly interested. LITE. Meh.

Dual core 1.2Ghz, 1gb RAM, Double Meh.
But for that price, if you're looking for a functional, not wow tablet, this would be a good deal.
Goods kids tablet
I had one. Was disappointed to discover it didn't support OTG.
My parents have this tablet and it's incredibly slow. More importantly it's got so much Samsung bloatware that there is very little space for installed apps. Internal memory: 8 (user accessible 4.79GB)GB. Even with a micro SD added, you can only move so much to it, and it makes opening the apps on the SD card even slower.
It also has a flaw when you let the battery drain completely in that you often need to remove the back cover and disconnect the battery or it won't charge. Not a problem if it was a tablet with a removable battery, but this is not one of those tablets.
I bought one of the The Asus Memo Pad HD7 ME173XX and it's a lot better. Finding one could be a problem.
Looking at specs it's going to be little laggy. I also own the Asus memo pad and I personally find that every now and then a little laggy.
