the last couple of days I've been getting these annoying pop-ups in chrome/ from Greatdeal.com.au
don't know how this crap keeps popping up. it's a small window but bothersome.
How can I get rid of this annoyance?

Search "Malwarebytes anti-malware" It is free, but you have to manually update it. It should keep the nasty crap off your PC.
Additionally, be careful when installing software, a lot of times crap is bundled with it. Uncheck any extra install options and you should be golden.
Looking at the removal instructions, i'd just copy my stuff off and reformat.
Yeah the idea of reformatting might be daunting, but i can be up and running within the hour. Unlike multiple hours screwing around with virus scanners
