Lego Worlds PC Game $14.99 US Early Access

24

New Minecraft style game from Lego on Early Access (game is still effectively in beta).

Blurb.. In a galaxy of procedural worlds made entirely from LEGO bricks, will you… EXPLORE environments filled with adventure, then alter them? DISCOVER secrets and treasures, then play with them? CREATE your own models, then make a world your own? In LEGO® Worlds, it’s up to you…

Has a few bugs already but my 10yo loves it, possibly a Minecraft killer.

Not a deal though? $15 is it's normal price.

You could put this in the forums to talk about if it can beat minecraft, but definitely not a deal

Not sure what the deal is here. Can we post the entire Early Access catalogue?

$15 US for a beta game that will still cost $15 when finished is not a bargain

    • +1

It will cost more when finished.

      • Where did you read that?
It already in steam saying $15 and just a note saying its an early release and might be changed

"What the developers have to say"

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
Yes, the game will be available at a reduced price during Early Access

        • @TimU:

we may as well post the entire early access library then lol

        • @TimU:

Well thats a lot of speculation

The game will probably be released free sucking people in buying packs of blocks.

Question remains what happens to the early access? Do you have to rebuy when released? If so then $15 for 6 months is a lot more expensive than $100 for lifetime use..

And of course he will say its a reduced price
          - its a reduced game
          - you think anyone will buy it if he said its an increased price during early access?

My son loves Lego and loves Minecraft. However I aint paying for some rip off beta access.

        • @Roary:
It's not really speculation when the developer makes the statement. I was simply referring you to the evidence.

Of course, there's always a risk when purchasing any early-access or beta games.
However, it's highly unlikely that you'll need to re-buy the full version of the game when it's released. They'll just keep issuing updates to the beta until they're ready for v1.0, at which point they'll release another update and change the price for new purchases.

Take a look at Kerbal Space Program (http://store.steampowered.com/app/220200) for a great example on a long-term early-access beta program that converted to full version.
Discounted pricing for beta, ~25% more expensive for v1.0.

starting to see a trend on here where anything is getting posted in the hopes of being a deal?
Early access is not a deal.

Tempting, but unfortunately Lego Worlds doesn't appear to be available for linux or osx.

    • Yeah, that's stopping me too. Given it's a new game I was hoping for better cross-platform support than previous Lego games.

  • Will be available in 3 months at this price, likely better if from elsewhere than Steam. No Bargain

  • Why did you put this on ozbargain? really has no relevance.

  • Yeah can't really see the deal. Yes looks like a great game but belongs in a forum. Then you should probably post this on ocau or whirlpool.
