[Mighty Ape] The Evil Within $38 Delivered (PS4 & Xbox One)

42

While investigating the scene of a gruesome mass murder, Detective Sebastian Castellanos and his partners encounter a mysterious and powerful force. After seeing the slaughter of fellow officers, Sebastian is ambushed and knocked unconscious. When he awakens, he finds himself in a deranged world where hideous creatures wander among the dead.

Pretty cheap for a good horror game on the current gen consoles. OzGameshop has it for $35 delivered, but Mighty Ape has local stock and will be delivered faster.

Terrible, terrible game. 3/10 would not play again.

      • I'll brave the negs for my opinion.

      • I should pounce on you for using metacritic, but I support The Evil Within on this one lol. Still, it could be a better score, I'd recommend people buy in at a lower price than 40 bucks.

It's $28 new ($23 Pre owned) on PS3, Xbox360 and PC from EB games if anyone's looking for this title on older platforms, or on the cheap. Plays pretty much the same, with the general experience roughly the same (Just at half the frames!)

        • I know but its more of a collective feel, the collective feeling is that its not a terrible game.

        • The reason people are upset about it is because it was being advertised at E3 as the next big Resident Evil 1. And didn't (and never could have) reach that kind of success. But who cares? It's still a unique and decent game, even if it's using mechanics and features that are a little dated by modern gaming's definitions.

If every survival horror was scored on how much like Resident Evil it is, that would make the genre a very boring theme.

  • $17 (+delivery, if not C&C) in HNorman's sale.

      Not on PS4.

Didn't see the PS4 in title.
        Can I half-neg then? :-p

      • EB Games - $36 PS4 (in-store). (Delivery makes it more expensive than MApe)

          EB Games - $36 PS4 (in-store)

If you look really close, I even put OzGameShop in the original post which is even cheaper than EB. Thanks for playing.

        • @Dagmar: It's OzBARGAIN, not Oz-quickestdelivery. Thanks for playing. ;-)

          Thanks for playing. ;-)

          Using my joke, wow.

      • This is what happens when people wanna find reasons to neg. Blatantly ignore platform/pre-order bonuses/etc just so they can neg.

        • Well, it is cheaper at EB so he has a point.

I think people need to stop taking negative votes personally.

It's well within the guidelines and helps highlight the fact that a cheaper price is available (even if only for 1 platform).

Personally, i don't want to pay more for UK stock and wait and a week for it to come in the post, just so i can have the following items

          Medical Kit
          Double Barrel Shotgun
          Incendiary Agony Bolt
          Poison Agony Bolt
          Green Gel

          the deal was beaten twice….

        • I didn't "wanna find reasons to neg". I saw the HNorman sale online earlier and noted that price for Evil Within for a friend. As posted before, I missed seeing the PS4 note, and even then would assume that HN had stock for both platforms (they don't seem to online).

So I did some research myself to see if there was as good a PS4 deal for those with that console.

Don't take it personally. The neg was legitimate for the price, not as a slight for your research.

        • @Linkwick: I bought the PS4 version from HN online a few weeks ago. Not sure why its gone, maybe they've sold out and discontinued.

        • @Where's_That_Cake:

Well, it is cheaper at EB so he has a point.

Was responding to the Harvey Norman post.

  • Ozgameshop carry local stock usually now and are faster than Mighty Ape.
