It's been pretty cold so I think this is comes at a good time. Men's and women's available in different colours. Not as good a deal as the freebie from Uniqlo but still decent. I haven't seen it 'in the flesh' so I'll not be able to answer any questions relating to quality of materials, etc.

You can pick up for free in store or was $7.95 delivery to 2071.

Hmm bit worry about quality of stuffs sold in this store. Some are like $2 Chinese junk stuffs.

Unless there is good review for this products, I'm not convince

  • Limited sizes and colours, Mens only in Small. Womens only 10 and 12.

  • $89.99 is that before the 70% off or after ?
im too lazy to sign just to see the price…

You've got to be careful what sort of industry you're supporting by purchasing these cheap down jackets. Unethically sourced down is bad news all round and shouldn't be encouraged.

Do you mean caged vs free range? Grain fed?

He means that when you pay for crap it pushes the price higher for decent quality stuff.

        • There's that side, definitely. But I mean it encourages the use of live plucked feathers / force fed birds. Companies like UNIQLO also won't use ethically sourced, and as a result they're able to market their down jackets at a much lower price point.

I usually only pluck the feathers off the bird that I intend to eat. Nothing goes to waste

        • Good man.

@wem77: I would be more interested in the welfare of the people that made these before the birds that go into them……

Yeah, nah, I'm not sold, you need to give a lot more information for things like this. What materials are the rest of the jacket? How heavy is the jacket, what is the sizing like, how MUCH is packed inside, etc etc.

The fact that this brand "outdoor expedition" is only sold at Ray's Outdoors makes it even more suss.

  • For those interested, I've popped into a Rays Outdoors to check this jacket out.

It's quite lightweight in comparison to standard Kathmandu down jackets that are about 550 loft. Plastic-y feel due to water resistant nylon shell.

The filling seems to be ethically sourced down, as it's listed as coming from Allied Feather and Down
