Cheap 4G BYO Unlimited Mobile Plan?

Hi all,

I've been with Virgin Mobile for about 6 years now, slowly working my way up from their $29 Big Cap to my current $60 cap plan with $700 worth of calls and 3GB data. I was going over with the cheaper plans but hadn't gone over on the $60 until this month when I got a bill for $200+. I stupidly thought 13 and 1300 numbers were a 'flat rate', but found out the hard way this month after numerous calls to my internet ISP that they are charged by the minute at $0.98! (I'm sure they were flat rate once, but perhaps I am thinking of another plan I was on)

Anyway, I'm now considering changing providers and want to know who has a good deal for unlimited calls on a 4G network. I have seen that Vaya have a plan for $44/month unlimited with 3GB data, although I have heard very mixed reviews about them.

Can anyone offer any feedback on Vaya and any other OzBargain suggested plans for my needs?

    If your budget can stretch to $50 month this optus unlimited calls, 8gb data seems pretty popular https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/196494

    I'll second that. I'm with another mobile reseller and despite how the plan looks on paper, am getting stung on final charges. I'll be moving over to this $50 Optus plan today. Apparently the online $10 discount expires this week.

    Thanks for the update guys. Just checked with Virgin and I've still got 9 months left on contract and $360 early payout so might have to wait a little while to changeover if I can stick within the cap, otherwise if I look to be going over again I'd be better to payout the contract and move on.

    I also saw that TPG have the XXL plan for $45 unlimited calls and 6GB data, anyone got any feedback on TPG as a phone provider?

    What about the $35 (15% off) the $50 Vodafone Red Plan? 3GB data, unlimited calls + 300 min international calls.

      Interesting…. Where is the 15% off available? I just looked it up on their website and missed the 15% off, it did say 5GB data included (1GB EOFY bonus and 1GB online bonus). Perhaps the additional data has replaced the 15% off deal?

    I've been with Live Connected for about three years. They were bought by Vaya. So now I'm on the Vaya $18 plan with 1.5GB of data, and that's working pretty well.
