ON 100% Whey 10lbs (4.5kg) for $140.25. Pretty decent price.

    https://protein247.com.au/optimum-nutrition-gold-standard-10…

  • Yep excellent price on 4.5kg Optimum Nutrition. Came at a good time too - I'm almost out.

  • Has anyone tried this?
    https://protein247.com.au/international-protein-superior-whe…

Thoughts? Also does anyone know the expiry date?

    • I've tried a couple of flavours… I think it was chocolate and strawberry. Tasted pretty crap I reckon.

This is compared to ON 100% Gold standard (decent taste that doesn't get sickening), gaspari myofusion (amazing tasting but high carbs i think) and max's superwhey (which started off OK but got terrible as I got halfway through the box).

      • thanks for that,

seems like really good value for money, in terms of protein/$

      • I wa slooking for a new mass gainer, so you recommend the gaspari?

        • To be honest I'm not the best person to ask and so if I were you I would consult e.g. bodybuilding.com forums or something.

Objectively, I wouldn't call Myofusion a mass gainer. Yes it does have more carbs and more fat than "leaner" powders such as ON 100% gold standard but if you look at the actual mass gainer products you'll see that they tend to be either:

          • 80-90% carbs, or
          • 30-50% carbs and 20-30% fat

If you're looking for pure weight gain you're better off with a dedicated mass gainer compared to myofusion.

If you just need a few extra calories but don't want masses of calories then I think Myofusion is a decent (albeit slightly expensive) choice.

Personally I just bought it because I love the taste!

        • @jzdhgkd:

Thanks for the detailed info mate. May go have a read :)

          Cheers!

    • The chocolate flavour doesn't dissolve easily, banana does.

    • Its the only whey I use now. I highly recommend.

      The strawberry tastes amazing.

Dang abit late, switched from ON to Bulk nutrients now. Wonder if AminoZ would price match this

    • wondering the same thing

  • Really good price on C4 extreme pre-workout with the coupon - way cheaper than SuppsRUs on ebay :p

  • has anyone also noticed it adds 10% at the end for GST? so just a heads up if anyone is buying anything the prices you find on the website does not include GST so in the end you dont save that much..

    • Added quest chips to cart. Website shows $40. Cart shows sub-total of $36.36 and adds GST of $3.64. Total comes to $40.

      • Yes that is correct, it splits the total and shows the GST but when you put the coupon code in it will take 15% off the $40 not the $36.36.

PS: The quest bars are $44/box.

          PS: Read chips, not bars.

        • @ebautista13:

Oh my bad! It was way past my bed time ha.

      • +1

For those interested, the Quest chips are not very tasty. It tastes like salty whey. I tried all flavours and BBQ was best because it was heavy enough to mask the whey taste. Not good value for money either - you get a very small bag for $5/unit.

Big fan of (most) Quest bars though - they make those flavours very well.

  • My chiropractor suggested getting some whey protein powder. I do some minor weights to tone but it's slow going. I've always stayed away from supplements due to price.

Can anyone tell me if I pay $140 for 4.5 Kilo, how long does that last? I'm happy to pay that much if it lasts a while, but I certainly do not have $140 to spend per month for example.

    • +4

Scoops are normally 30g, so that comes to around 150 servings. Should last a couple of months at least.

Also, the term "tone" doesn't really exist. When people say tone, they normally mean they want to lose a bit of fat while building a bit of muscle. Those are both conflicting goals and generally can't be achieved naturally at the same time.

      • +1

Yep. Tone is bs marketing spin. 4.5kg's could last you 6 months + depending on how often you train.

It's obvious that you're providing misleading information here.
The body is more than capable of shedding fat and gaining muscle at the same time.

Simply put, if you did an 'intense' workout and managed your nutrition properly you can achieve this.

The idea is to intake less than your basal metabolic rate (BMR), with a high percentage of protein. This will make your body decide what to do with the protein (This is called portioning). If your workouts are done right (good balance of 5 factors to a workout), the body will drop fat whilst gaining muscle mass. But overall you will be losing body weight, albeit in very small amounts.

Most pro body builders do this leading up to a comp. There is nothing stopping you from doing this all year round, other than having to count calories, weigh your food, meal planning, etc. which can be difficult for some.

A little research into this will greatly assist you understanding in nutrition and body building.

        • Dude, I said "generally can't be achieved naturally at the same time". Key word: generally. I'm not going to go into the science behind it all, the guy is obviously a beginner. People claim that they can lose fat and build muscle while intermittent fasting and using a range of other techniques, but GENERALLY they are conflicting goals.

All your points about pro bodybuilders are moot. They are all juicers.

          Don't be a meathead.

    • +2

I wouldn't get 4.5kg from the start without trying some of the flavours..

  • Sorry to use this post to complain about your website. But, there is no extended product info for ingredients. This info is out there - so for a product that I don't already know about I have to google it instead of being there in the product description.

  • Picked up a 10lb bag of Gold Standard. The flavours are selling out so I'd suggest getting in quick!

  • Picked up Chocolate 10lb bag of Gold Standard and Watermelon C4 Pre-workout. Thanks

  • Thanks for the heads up OP! Picked up Chocolate 5IB Gold Standard

    • Lucky me! Just bought the 5 choc a couple of hours ago
