Need Help with Samsung TV Purchase - Please :)

Hi fellow Bargainers.

It's not often I ask for help finding a bargain, but this is one of those times.

For reasons I won't go in to, need to purchase the Samsung UA32J4100. Dick Smith has it on special today at $430, but when I see it here at $358, it kills me.

I've looked high and low with no success. All I can do is hope DSE has a code soon bringing the price down below $400. Thing is, I need it by the weekend.

If anyone has any tricks/tips/inside knowledge for a sub $400 purchase, please share it and I'll be forever grateful.

All the very best… TA.

  • Buy it at $430 use your Coles MasterCard and then claim the difference when it's advertised cheaper within 2 years.

    • Thanks, great tip, but I don't have a Coles Mastercard :(

  • Check the fine print on the one you have …they might offer the same deal.

    • +1

Seems I'm out of luck with Citibank Visa. Has to be advertised in a catalogue, not the internet…

Guaranteed Pricing Scheme Summary of Cover:

Guaranteed Pricing Scheme reimburses you for the difference in price, up to $500, between a covered product you have purchased on your card and the same covered product advertised in a store catalogue. All cardholders are eligible for Guaranteed Pricing Scheme when the whole purchase price of a covered product is charged to the cardholder’s card and the price difference is more than $75.

We cover you for the difference in price, up to $500, between the price of a covered product and the purchase price of the same item advertised
in a store catalogue that is produced after you purchase the covered product, provided that: (a) the cheaper covered product is new, the same model number and year and produced by the same manufacturer as the covered product purchased; (b) the cheaper covered product is available
from a store within a 25 kilometre radius of the store where you purchased the covered product; and (c) you make a claim under this cover no later than 60 days after the purchase of your covered product and provide to us the store catalogue advertising the cheaper covered product.

This cover does not apply to covered products purchased or advertised exclusively on the internet.

    • Thanks kados. Need the TV by the weekend though.

  • Get Good Guys to price match the Dick Smith price. If it's offered cheaper over the next 30 days by Good Guys, claim the price guarantee

This gives you some hope if they do a better EOFY sale

    • Thanks Spackbace. Tried this earlier today. TGG Preston wouldn't match the price as they claimed it said 'online' offer only, even though I explained C&C was available. Go figure.

  • Also, dont look here if you really don't want to be disappointed :P

    • Ok, I won't lol :)

      I looked.. couldn't resist.

  • The DSE ebay store is now $499 but the main web site is showing $418.18 with Click and Collect. That's for today only.

    • Cheers. As I told Spackbace above, I got Harvey Norman to pricematch the $418. I then got a work colleague to pay with AmEx via this offer for a $50 card credit. So in effect, this has cost me $368. No complaints here :)
