Wondering if anyone uses a realistic Dummy surveillance camera at home and if you do can you recommend an ok one ? My local Kmart has only the Dome ones which dont suit were we want to put them.
Apparently Woolworths had some good ones a while back under $10 but I checked my local Woolies and couldnt find them anymore.

Many crimes are based on opportunity. So I would say that a fake security camera can deter dumb thieves.
Sound like you need to move suburbs - kids throwing rocks at your house doesnt happen in most postcodes!
I think I got mines for $3 on ebay…You can put a battery in it to turn on the blinking red light.
I have some and nobody has ever asked if they are real or fake, people just presume they are real. In most cases they are a legitimate security camera, just missing the internals.
Thanks for the answers !
Got these - http://www.dicksmith.com.au/security/dick-smith-replica-ccd-… - more expensive than ebay but wanted it by the weekend not wait weeks.
Surveillance cameras are not going to stop thieves, if anything it just tells them you have something worth Stealing. That and anyone with half an brain can spot a real one vs a fake one. If you want to deter kids if might work, but if that is your primary target; from what I've seen having a camera just gives them something to throw rocks at. Can I ask what you are trying to achieve with said fake camera's?
