Scoot airlines vs AirAsia for return Singapore to Sydney

Question for people in terms of scoot vs Air asia for flights return from Singapore to Sydney - I have two options:

  1. return via Scoot $500 direct - but I heard scoot is really bad and may have cancellations. 8 hours in total

  2. return via Airasia around $600 - however there is a stopover for each leg of the journey at Kuala Lumpur for around 2 hours ish. is this enough time? I was worried that it might not be enough due to cancellations etc. 11 hours in total

Suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

  • The scoot flights leave at 2am from Changi too.
I have flown this route with both and prefer airasia slightly, but not enough to spend more for a non-direct flight.
    I would choose scoot.

    • Yep, unless you really want avoid the 2am flight I'd go with Scoot, I've only flown with them from Perth but seemed to be on par with what I'd expect from AirAsia but you may as well avoid the connection. If you choose to booking the earlier connecting flight on return flight to be sure you don't miss it.

And of course you don't get a discount from booking the return with the same carrier so could always fly one way with both or wait for a Jetstar sale there.

  • I fly with Scoot and Air Asia frequently and think the service are about the same, for $100 cheaper and direct flight, I will definitely choose Scoot.

  • Thank you all. Much appreciated.

  • Ended up going with Emirates direct for 750 ish. everything else was booked out, and air asia came to 725 anyways.
