The place in the middle of The Strand is very good. $6 for a std shine, then prices upwards of that for varying degrees of extra services. They'll wax, waterproof, moisturise, do your laces etc. in addiition to std shine for a few bucks extra. Max is $14 or something like that. Keeps your shoes lasting longer and in good nick if you cant do it yourself.
same, dunno price though
Take your $10 to Coles buy yourself some supplies and do them yourself…many a good time in my childhood was spent sitting next to my dad on the back steps watching him shine those riding boots till you could see yourself in them.mmmm memories.
I do have supplies.
but tedious and messy
(im probably just doing a bad job but still…)
First world problems
well this IS a first world forum…
@edwinlin88: No this a bargain forum where you do stuff to save money ;)
buy a new pair each time u need to shine it!
Just polish your boots while watching the telly. Lay down some newspaper on the coffee table or ottoman. It's easy to get a good up and down rhythm while your eyes are fixed on the screen.
We're still talking about boots, right
@nocure: Yeah, of course. What did you think I was talking about?
Also protip: A good gob of spit will work but you'll feel kind of dirty afterwards.
You can get a similar effect by holding it up to your mouth and breathing on it, the heat will soften the wax polish and led it spread smoother.
@nocure:
depends on the movie!
i remember seeing one of those fancy hotels having a machine where you could shine ur shoes in the bathroom
ohyeh seen those… do they actually work?
they look filthy and could scratch shoes?
don't see em around much anymore
prolly ok for black shoes
u are suppose to be able to clean sport shoes but i wouldnt
Why don't you put boot polish on your shoes them rub them along the brushes found on the edges of the escalators
i see heaps of people lining up in the strand (in the middle)
