Unfortunately not universal ports like the Anker (among others) chargers. Being able to plug anything into any port is really a great feature. I don't think this one is worth $30.

      I bought these yesterday..

Looks good, or possibly this one https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/195266 if the coupon is still valid.

        • still valid, i just bought one

      • Those Floureon models look like direct Anker clones. I've got the Anker and very happy with it.

My big wish is that we get some decent Qualcomm 2 Adaptive quick chargers. Plenty in the US, but very few available to Australia except for ridiculously high prices. The CHOETECH ones look the goods.

        • Yeah, I've got a couple of Anker's ….. excellent chargers, and probably the first company to market with multi port Smart chargers. Also got a Choetech 6 port, for some reason it doesn't like charging my Mi power banks. They never seem to fully charge.

        • @ash2000:
Is it the 4 port + 2 adaptive or the normal 6 port ?

        • @DJ:

          6 "smart" ports.

Sorry to tell you, I bought two of the Floureon 40W about three weeks ago and they both failed within a week. One lost power on 3 ports and the other on 2 ports.

On the bright side the Australian vendor I bought from was very helpful and provided a full refund on return, but I am still out of pocket for return postage (pending his refund).

Can NOT RECOMMEND Floureon for this reason. I am very suspicious of cheap low quality devices and the harm they can do. Floureon looked good and initially performed very well, but two failures in a week is clearly unacceptable.

I am going with the well reviewed but much more expensive Anker charger instead.

Ive had my Anker 40w for about 10 months now….. Never missed a beat. Amazingly fast at charging my iPad…..much faster than with genuine apple charger.

I bought my from ebay, then subsequently bought another 4 for family members from amazon using a forwarding company.

I bought two of the Floureon 40W about three weeks ago and they both failed within a week.

This sounds like good enough reason to steer clear.

      • Thanks for the link.

I offered $26, and they sold it to me for that :-)

      • Same got 3 for $20 each bargain

Wish they would send the Anker chargers here. I had to use reship to get mine over, and now I regret not buying two more.

    • The mBeat Quintary seems like a very close Anker copy.

Cheapest I've found is from Kogan for $36 (+$9 post) in Black or White.
CoTD have too for $40 (Black / White) which is cheaper if you have free postage there.

I got from Kogan (~6 weeks ago) and am happy. Looks very, very similar to the Anker which I also have - in both looks and operation.

shipping fee is the deal killer

  • i have the very cheap version from ebay but sometimes it gave me burn smell when i tried to charge 3 devices at the same time , including ipad.

should i worry it will explode?

    • That doesn't sound good at all.

    • Any sort of burn smell from electronics is not good, that is a sign of an impending fire.

      • ok i will buy the one Doge mentioned above

Used to have one of those, if you plugged in a few high current draw devices it would get extremely hot… I presumed it was going beyond its 2.1A rating…

Get a decent one and live a little longer.

I had the exact same issue with my identical unit. Occasionally, the unit would get very hot, then the lights would blink on/off and shut off the charging. I tossed that out and bought another one which works fine, so I'm guessing it's not every unit, but from reading around, there's a high failure rate.

I also bought a 6-port charger that looks very similar and have had no problems with it.

  • I have this one. I can charge an iphone 6 and a oneplus (both in 2.4A port) at the same time, but if I plug my oneplus and my galaxy tab S (in 2.1A port) they don't charge together, the oneplus stops charging. Weird.

This is an old link, but worth reading if you want to know about mains powered chargers.

I bought the 4 port charger from this review before I read the article. When I charge my iPad with this charger, software starts to crash (eg. the iPad can't be unlocked with a slide of the finger, etc). It's pretty odd. I can repeat this 100% of the time. When I charge with the Apple charger, I get no faults, this 4 port generic charger (that has a high pitched squeal when it charges), iPad mucks up. I'm assuming it's some sort of power surge (a bit like a brown out).

    • Typical Apple experience.

No, it will be due to massive amounts of electrical noise being rammed into the iPad.

Seriously, you should throw that charger in the rubbish, before it damages your devices.

  • I've been using one of these for almost the last year and been going well so far!
