It's on sale again now and comes in at around $40 AUD delivered (US $30.92).

Surely how you choose to use it is no business of mine? =P
hmm, now you made me thinking
What actually is an irrigator?
Isn't peoples mouths already wet? or is JV right that it is a dildo? lol
seriously what is it?
It's for getting bits of food out from between your teeth. If you are like me, have had braces and still have a little metal wire glued behind your teeth then you can't use floss for those teeth. Use it in addition to brushing.
High pressure water jet - like a dentist uses. Bought one last time was on special and works well.
thanks. wouldn't gargling some water do the same thing? it is only 2 x AA battery powered, so it will be weak as ****. Seriously, one would need a Karcher to be of any benefit, maybe modified with a precision tip and less water, if a toothbrush couldn't do the job.
I have this unit and it's very powerful on a set of fresh batteries..it gradually gets weaker with use but still very acceptable until it runs out of power. Used 1-2 times a day it'll run for about a month to 6 weeks.
This will blast little bits of food from between your teeth that you didn't even know was there. I use it in addition flossing and it definitely keeps your teeth cleaner than flossing alone. If you're not a regular flosser, your gums will bleed til they get used to it, same goes for flossing.
Don't skip the floss people!
No, this thing works well. You can't get as much result with gargling. I use is particularly after a meal containing meat (like steak) and you'd be surprised how many bits are flushed out.
bleeding gums murphy
Also very good for hitting the back side of the back teeth. You could never reach it with a floss or brush.
@scupper: the sex toy?
I have some caffeine stains between my teeth which I can't remove with brushing and flossing. Will this help?
Prob won't help with previous stain but will prevent further staining.
The only water flosser worth your time is the Waterpik WP100. Battery-powered, handheld models generally don't generate enough pressure to give a thorough clean.
i disagree, especially when considering the cost (roughly 4-5 times more expensive for the Waterpik). At a basic level this will do 90% of the job.
I was just reading up on Amazon, there is a new WP660 and it is only US$60 which is not 4-5 times more expensive. It is a little more but worth it for the quality of the product. You get what you pay for. I have added the WP660 to my existing Amazon shopping cart and so shipping is like $6
And remember, you might also need to purchase some kind of power converter.
sorry should have been clearer, was referring to the wp100.
the american ones will usually need a transformer, the Panasonic won't.
But as with anything, you can pay more for a better model but this is a perfectly good water flosser.

Amcal has the Ultra (WP100) for $126 if you sign up for the newsletter, with free delivery (and another $5 off for cashrewards) vs $85 for the Amazon WP660 which needs a converter.
Wow I can't believe this comment got down-voted. You try and help out but sharing a personal experience and you get slapped in the face just because someone has a different opinion. Makes me not want to contribute to the community.
I up voted you! Good to have opinion on other products epically real user experience. Don't let the neggers stop you! But that said, this battery powered one is pretty good! :)
Thanks… poop.. I guess!
sold out again
any difference between this one and the other models? is it equally as powerful etc.
cheers :)
Am I missing something? Total comes to AUD 57.75
sold out
Just checked, was able to place an order for AUD 41.73
How did you do that?, I couldn't see it available anymore.
I refreshed!
Do oral irrigators get their water from the dental dam?
