For people on already on Telstra Friends and Family plan currently on a month to month, you can get the Galaxy Note 4 for $15/mth if you go on a 24 month contract. There is also a $50 up front fee. Total cost over 24 months $360 + $50 = $410
This fits in nicely with my under $500-for-a-phone policy

There is a number at Telstra (which I wrote down but I can't find it) for specialist who deal with Telstra staff/Friends & Family plan. I was calling about a different matter and I asked what phone I can get if I go on a contract and she asked what I would like. The note 4 is good value, so I asked if I can get it instore, which I did.
Can you give some more details on which telstra store? I've tried to recontract but haven't been able to get the option of getting the note 4 on this MRO.

I got it from Telstra shop in melbourne central.
Long version of the story:
I called the normal telstra number about something else, then I ask them what handset I can get if I recontracted my friend and family/staff plan. They gave me a number to call saying that thats the number for enquiries regarding the staff plan.
I called that number and asked for the note 4 on a contract and was told that it will be $15/mth for 24 months.
I asked if I can do this in a store and she told me yes. I went that evening to the telstra store and came home with it.
